Abstract: Methods, systems and computer program products for load routing across a plurality of networks are provided. A request to exchange communication data between a user endpoint device and a target device is received. At an application layer, a first portion of the communication data associated with the request is allocated for routing over a first network domain and a second portion of the communication data associated with the request is allocated for routing over a second network domain, administered independently from the first network domain, to provide an allocation of the communication data. The first portion is routed between the user endpoint device and the target device over a network access link coupled to the first network domain without notifying the first network domain of the allocation of the communication data. The second portion is routed between the user endpoint device and the target device over a network access link coupled to the second network domain without notifying the second network domain of the allocation of the communication data.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for implementing virtual posting services. Methods include receiving content from a communications device located in a geographic proximity that is serviced by an access node, storing the content in a storage device that is in communication with the access node, and tracking an amount of time the content item is stored. If the amount of time does not reach a pre-established threshold, the methods include transmitting the content to another communications device in response to detecting the presence of the other communications device within the geographic proximity and in response to an inquiry from the other communications device.

Abstract: An apparatus, method, and computer-readable medium for interfacing devices with communications networks are provided. According to one aspect, an interface device for providing communications between a first communications network and a device associated with a second communications network comprises one or more inputs, one or more outputs, and logic. The one or more inputs of the interface device receive data in a first format from the first communications network. The logic translates the data to a second format compatible with the second communications device. The translated data is then transmitted to the device associated with the second communications network via the one or more outputs. The first and second formats may comprise rich media content.

Abstract: Exemplary embodiments of the invention relate to methods, systems, and storage mediums for providing multi-viewpoint, media-sharing activities related to proximity-centric media content associated with an event whereby the media-sharing activities are performed via portable communications devices. The method includes identifying an alternate feed of media content by a first portable communications device that was captured by a second portable communications device at the event. The method also includes performing real-time auditioning of the media content by the first portable communications device for assessing a vantage point of the media content with respect to the event. The method further includes receiving the alternate feed of media content at the first portable communications device in response to a request transmitted by the first portable communications device. The first portable communications device and the second portable communications device are in geographic propinquity of the event.

Abstract: High dynamic range imaging includes creating a high dynamic range image file for a subject image captured from a first angle. The high dynamic range image file is created by an image capturing device and is stored on the image capturing device. High dynamic range imaging also includes receiving, at the image capturing device over a communications network, a second high dynamic range image file for the subject image captured from a second angle. The second high dynamic range image file is subject to an authorization requirement. High dynamic range imaging further includes creating, by the image capturing device, a composite high dynamic range image file by combining elements of both of the high dynamic range image files, and generating, by the first image capturing device, a three-dimensional high dynamic range image from the composite high dynamic range image file.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media are provided for location-based information delivery. One system described herein includes a matching server operative to identify a geographic area in which an informational message should be transmitted to subscriber devices located within the area. The geographic area may be a statically defined fixed geographic area, such as a neighborhood, that the matching server identifies utilizing one or more fixed geographic indicators. The geographic area identified by the matching server may alternatively be an ad-hoc variably sized geographic area. The matching server may utilize one or more variable geographic indicators to identify the geographic area. Once a geographic area has been identified, the matching server is operative to transmit an informational message to subscriber devices located within the geographic area. The informational message may contain content relevant to the geographic area.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer-readable media provide for the display of overlying alternative media content in real time upon the initiation of a fast-forwarding action associated with underlying media content. According to implementations, a method includes displaying underlying media content at a first playback rate. A modification of the playback rate, from a first rate to a second rate, is detected. As a result of detecting the second playback rate, alternative media content is retrieved and displayed. According to one aspect, the underlying media content is television programming while the alternative media content is screen frames selected from the television programming at predetermined time intervals. According to another aspect, the alternative media may include media content that is unrelated to the television programming.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for passing through features from alternative network devices, such as cellular telephones, to plain old telephone system (POTS) devices. In a broad sense, the system includes an interface that bridges the alternative network devices to the POTS devices. The interface is configured to convey feature data contained within signaling data generated by the alternative network devices and pass the feature data through to the connected POTS devices. If the feature data is incompatible with the connected POTS devices, the interface is further configured to determine a compatible protocol for the connected POTS devices and translate the feature data into the compatible protocol.
