    Abstract: An image captured by a camera or the like mounted to a housing to he worn on the head of a user is receded, a first image portion corresponding to a first site of the body of the user is detected from the image, and a predetermined feature amount in the detected first image portion is acquired. In addition, an area which contains the first image portion within the image and in which the predetermined feature amount is continuously changed is specified, and a second image portion corresponding to a second site of the body of the user different from the first site is detected from an image portion within the specified area.

    Abstract: A display control apparatus includes a display control section, a space information acquisition section, and a reporting section. The display control section generates a virtual space image by specifying a viewpoint position and a direction of line of sight and displays the image on a head-mounted display. The space information acquisition section acquires information related to a position of an object existing in a space around a user wearing the head-mounted display. The reporting section informs the user that the object exists around the user when a distance between the head-mounted display and the object becomes smaller than a given value.

    Abstract: Provided is a head-mounted device that includes a housing, first imaging means, and second imaging means. The housing is to be mounted on the head of a user. The first and second imaging means are mounted on the housing to capture images from different angles of view. The head-mounted device receives an image captured by the first imaging means, detects an image portion corresponding to a body portion of the user from the received image, and estimates, based on information indicative of the detected image portion, a possible existence range of a predetermined part of the body of the user within an image captured by the second imaging means.

    Abstract: A captured image acquisition section of an information processing apparatus acquires polarization image data including polarization information in a plurality of azimuths. An imaging apparatus information acquisition section acquires information regarding a position and posture of an imaging apparatus. A viewpoint control section of a subject information acquisition section controls a plurality of viewpoints from which polarization images are captured. A point-of-interest information acquisition section sets a pixel of interest having a degree of polarization equal to or higher than a threshold in a polarization image of a first viewpoint, identifies a pixel representing the same point of interest in a polarization image of a second viewpoint, and then obtains a line of intersection between incident planes acquired for the respective viewpoints as a normal vector. An output data generation section generates output data based on results thereof and outputs the data.
