    Abstract: A computed tomography system has an x-ray source, x-ray detector, a gantry, and a controller configured to automatically initiate an air-calibration using the source and detector with air in an air space and to determine gain values for channels of the detector from the automatically initiated air-calibration. A computed tomography system having a patient bore, a controller, an x-ray source, and a detector is calibrated by receiving a setting for a medical scan to be performed by the computed tomography system for a particular patient, the setting being one of a plurality of optional values, scanning air and not the patient in the patient bore with the source and the detector using the setting, determining a gain value based on the scanning with the setting and not the other optional values, and scanning the patient with the source and the detector using the setting and the gain value.

The jumpseat includes a post element rotatably attached to a floor portion of the patient compartment, wherein the floor portion is located in a clearance space between the scanning device and a head end of the stretcher. The jumpseat also includes a seating element rotatably attached to the post element. The post and seating elements are moveable between a stowed position wherein the post element and seating element are substantially horizontal and a deployed position wherein the post element is substantially vertical and the seating element is substantially horizontal and located in the clearance space and in-line with a patient's body axis.

    Abstract: A method is disclosed for providing image data to a central unit. In an embodiment, the method includes acquiring image data using a mobile imaging device, the mobile imaging device being a mobile communication device or being connected to a mobile communication device; determining bandwidth information relating to a locally available bandwidth for a radio network or multiple separate radio networks; at least one of selecting a communication location for the mobile communication device based on the bandwidth information determined, and selecting the radio network or multiple separate radio networks based on the bandwidth information determined; and at least one of moving the mobile communication device to the selected communication location selected, and using the radio network or multiple separate radio networks selected to transfer the image data to the central unit.

    Abstract: A medical imaging apparatus for computer tomography, includes a first housing frame; a scanning section, movably disposed in an axial direction with respect to the first housing frame; and driving device(s). The scanning section includes an essentially toroidal scanning section housing including at least one uncovered axial surface, and a radiation source and a radiation detector, rotatably disposed inside of the essentially toroidal scanning section housing. The driving device(s) are configured to move the scanning section along an axial direction with respect to the first housing frame to perform a telescopic motion of the radiation source and radiation detector, during an operation of the medical imaging apparatus. The at least one uncovered axial surface of the essentially toroidal scanning section housing is movable along the axial direction.

    Abstract: A method is for actuating a medical imaging device for generating a second three-dimensional image dataset including a target region in a region of interest of a patient with a functional impairment. The method includes providing a first three-dimensional image dataset including the region of interest of the patient; identifying the target region based on the first three-dimensional image dataset, a partial region of the region of interest with the functional impairment being determined; determining an imaging parameter for generating the second three-dimensional image dataset based on the identified target region; and actuating the medical imaging device based on the imaging parameter for the generation of the second three-dimensional image dataset.
