摘要: A system and method for generating base water and precipitate, including combining produced water with seawater to precipitate barium sulfate from barium in the produced water and from sulfate in the seawater, and separating the precipitate to give the base water and the precipitate. The base water may have less than a specified amount of sulfate and be utilized for hydraulic fracturing fluid. The precipitate may give a weighting agent for drilling.

摘要: A system and method for generating base water and precipitate, including combining produced water with seawater to precipitate barium sulfate from barium in the produced water and from sulfate in the seawater, and separating the precipitate to give the base water and the precipitate. The base water may have less than a specified amount of sulfate and be utilized for hydraulic fracturing fluid. The precipitate may give a weighting agent for drilling.

摘要: To determine efficiencies of wellbore pressure control valves, results of manufacturer tests performed by a manufacturer of a pressure control valve (PCV) are identified. The PCV is configured to control flowrate of a fluid through a pipeline. The manufacturer tests correlate quantities of the fluid that the PCV allows to flow through the pipeline at respective open positions of the PCV. After installing the PCV in a flowline downstream of a production tree disposed within a hydrocarbon gas production wellbore to control hydrocarbon gas flowrate through the production wellbore, operational tests are performed on the PCV to measure quantities of the hydrocarbon gas that the PCV allows to flow through the flowline at the respective open positions of the PCV. The results of the manufacturer tests are compared with results of the operational tests. Based on a result of the comparing, an operational condition of the PCV is determined.

摘要: In wellbore abandonment operations using recycled tire rubber, a quantity of shredded rubber obtained by shredding waste tires is mixed with a quantity of a wellbore fluid to form a wellbore abandonment fluid. A first plug of cement is flowed into a wellbore to be abandoned. After the first plug of cement has set, the wellbore abandonment fluid is flowed into the wellbore such that the wellbore abandonment fluid contacts and is uphole of the first plug of cement within the wellbore. After flowing the wellbore abandonment fluid into the wellbore, a second plug of cement is flowed into the wellbore such that the second plug of cement contacts and is uphole of the wellbore abandonment fluid.
