摘要: A foam composition includes a foam stabilizer, a foaming agent, a brine, and an inert gas. The foam stabilizer includes graphene. The foaming agent includes a viscoelastic surfactant. The inert gas is in the form of gas bubbles dispersed through a mixture of the foam stabilizer, the foaming agent, and the brine. The foam composition is configured to convert to a gel that is substantially impermeable to fluid flow in response to exposure to downhole conditions of a subterranean zone.

摘要: A method of stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation may include generating a foamed fracturing fluid having a half-life of 160 to 300 min at 77° F. The foamed fracturing fluid may comprise a fluorosurfactant, a nanoparticle, and a gas phase. The method may then include introducing the foamed fracturing fluid into a hydrocarbon-bearing formation under a pressure greater than the fracturing pressure of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation to generate fractures in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. Another method of stimulating a hydrocarbon-bearing formation may include introducing a foaming composition into the hydrocarbon-bearing formation under a pressure greater than fracturing pressure of the hydrocarbon-bearing formation to generate fractures in the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The foaming composition may include a fluorosurfactant, a nanoparticle, and a gas phase. The method then may include generating a foam from the foaming composition inside the hydrocarbon-bearing formation. The foam may have a half-life of 160 to 300 min at 77° F.

摘要: A drill bit for drilling a subterranean formation. The drill bit includes a drill bit body, at least one cutting element disposed on the drill bit body, and an optical sensor disposed on the drill bit body and configured to generate an environmental parameter measurement while drilling the subterranean formation. The optical sensor includes a fiber bragg grating embedded in an optical fiber that passes through a first channel in the drill bit body and a second channel in the drill string to couple to a surface logging station for analyzing the environmental parameter measurement, where the environmental parameter measurement represents at least a downhole chemical composition measured by the fiber bragg grating, and an analysis result of the surface logging station is presented to a user to facilitate a drilling operation.

摘要: Devices, methods, and systems for carbon dioxide (CO2) sequestration using a cellulose nanofiber (CNF) aerogel, having a monolithic structure. The monolithic structure includes an aerogel matrix, a plurality of crosslinked CNFs, and a plurality of cellulose nanocrystal acetone (a-CNC) suspension particles, where the plurality of crosslinked CNFs and the plurality of a-CNC suspension particles are dispersed throughout the aerogel matrix. Systems and methods for CO2 sequestration include locating a CO2 producing process, separating, using a first membrane system, a feed stream into a mixed solid and liquid stream and a first gas stream and separating, using a second membrane system, the first gas stream to produce a second gas stream and a CO2 rich stream. Systems and methods further include directing the CO2 rich stream to a cellulose nanofiber (CNF) aerogel unit and adsorbing CO2 from the CO2 rich stream.

摘要: A composition for consolidating a carbonate rock formation includes ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and a solvent. A method of consolidating a carbonate rock formation includes providing a consolidant composition comprising ground calcium carbonate (GCC) and a solvent, applying the consolidant composition to a rock formation, and allowing the GCC to precipitate onto the rock formation.

摘要: Systems and methods for measuring pH of a drilling fluid in a downhole drilling environment are disclosed. The system includes wireless pH sensing devices dispersed in the drilling fluid and circulated through a borehole. The wireless pH sensing devices include a capsule shell for protecting internal electronics from harsh downhole conditions. The electronics include an electrolyte insulator semiconductor field-effect (EIS) pH sensor structure, a controller, RF communications unit and power supply. The pH sensing devices periodically measure the pH of the fluid while circulating through the borehole. Upon return of the sensors above ground, the pH measurements are wirelessly provided to a monitoring computer, prior to recirculating the sensors through the borehole.
