Abstract:
A process for preparing a liquid crystal cell by irradiating on a transparent electrode a laser beam having a broader area than an outer shape of a conductive matter about the conductive matter, wherein the conductive matter is located between said two substrates having an alignment control film subjected to monoaxial alignment treatment.
Abstract:
A method of disconnecting a short-circuited part between upper and lower electrodes is provided which comprises the steps of;(a) forming a cell by placing one upon another a first substrate provided with a common electrode and a second substrate provided with opposed electrodes in the manner that said common electrode and said opposed electrode may form a plurality of mutually opposed portions;(b) detecting, among the plurality of mutually opposed portions, a mutually opposed portion at which a short circuit has occurred; and(c) disconnecting by insulation a short-circuited site present at the mutually opposed portion from the common electrode or opposed electrode.
Abstract:
A resistive sheet includes a flexible cover sheet, a wiring part provided on the bottom face of the cover sheet, and ring, circular-arc, or spiral resistive layer connected to the wiring part. This resistive layer has an uneven bottom face. The resistive sheet also includes a spacer layer whose bottom face is disposed at a position lower than the resistive layer. The wiring part is sandwiched between the bottom face of the cover sheet and the spacer layer.
Abstract:
A CCD linear sensor includes a monochrome sensor and a color sensor, which have different transfer speeds and which are mounted on the same chip. In the CCD linear sensor, while one read-out operation is performed by the color sensor, two read-out operations are performed by the monochrome sensor. During the second read-out period of the monochrome sensor, by stopping the generation of two-phase transfer pulses to be supplied to the transfer registers of the color sensors during a predetermined period of time before and after the second read-out pulse occurs, the transfer operation of the transfer registers of the color sensors is stopped.
Abstract:
When a signal output by a solid-state image sensing device is clamped to a predetermined reference potential, a high voltage generated in a transfer suspension period after the clamping as generally supplied to an A/D converter is generated. A sample/hold output Va is clamped to a clamp level Vref over a period of time between a halfway point of time of a signal of a picture element preceding ahead by one line and the end of an inhibit period of transfer clocks of a signal output by an empty transmission unit via a first clamp pulse and a sample/hold output for the second picture element, or a subsequent one of an OPB unit is clamped to the clamp level via a second clamp pulse to prevent a signal output from exceeding a reference voltage from being supplied to an A/D converter at a later stage.

Abstract:
A liquid crystal contained in a liquid crystal reservoir is applied to an injection port of a blank liquid crystal panel in a vacuum chamber, and the vacuum chamber is restored to the atmospheric pressure to inject the applied liquid crystal into the liquid crystal panel through the injection port. Herein, the liquid crystal, particularly a ferroelectric liquid crystal having a high viscosity, is effectively used for filling the liquid crystal panel with a minimum loss by using a transfer member moving between the liquid crystal reservoir and the liquid crystal panel.
Abstract:
An excellent bioactive cement is provided which can chemically and firmly bond to teeth or bones of living bodies, adapt the shape of defected portions of bones or teeth of living bodies, harden quickly, and exhibit high initial strength, without forming inflammation to the surrounding tissue of living bodies. The bioactive cement is composed of glass powder comprising Ca as a main constituent, and an aqueous solution of ammonium phosphate as a hardening liquid for the glass powder, and is economical and stable without loosing the fixation between the artificial biomaterial and the bones or teeth of living bodies nor degradation thereof in the living bodies during a long period of use in the living bodies.
