Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting packet data in a high-speed packet transmitting mobile communication system. In the packet data transmitting apparatus, a packet data channel generator processes packet data to be transmitted on a packet data channel, a preamble signal generator transmits a preamble signal according to a gain of the packet data channel, a select signal generator generates a select signal to transmit the preamble signal a predetermined time before transmitting the packet data, and a multiplexer outputs the preamble signal upon receipt of the select signal and the packet data in time division when the select signal is not received.
Abstract:
There is provided an apparatus and method for using QOF (Quasi-Orthogonal Function) Walsh codes when enough orthogonal Walsh codes are not available for a packet data service in a mobile communication system supporting concurrent provision of a high rate packet data service and a circuit call service. A data rate (DR1) in the case of using available orthogonal Walsh codes is first obtained. Then, a data rate (DR2) in the case of using QOF Walsh codes is obtained considering a power reduction factor due to the increase of interference involved with the use of the QOF Walsh codes. Packet data is transmitted at a higher data rate of DR1 and DR2. At the same time, information about the selected data rate and information about whether the QOF Walsh codes are used or not are transmitted.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for measuring an SIR in a CDMA mobile communication system. The SIRs and power of PICHs and the power of PDCHs are measured sequentially for a plurality of active set base stations. An active set base station having the highest signal strength is selected according to the measurements. Thus a data rate is determined adaptively to the SIR for efficient high rate packet data transmission.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting a frame transmission period in a CDMA mobile communication system supporting a discontinuous transmission mode. A first frame detector performs primary frame detection by calculating a signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) using traffic symbol energy, pilot symbol energy and noise energy measured for a predetermined time period, and comparing the SIR with a predetermined frame detection threshold value. A decoder calculates a symbol error rate (SER) by decoding symbols received for the predetermined time period. A second frame detector selects an SER threshold value according to frame detection information from the first frame detector, and compares the selected SER threshold value with the SER to determine whether a frame has been transmitted.

The present composition shows excellent COX and/5-LO inhibition effects, and thus can be used for the prevention or treatment of disease and disorders mediated by various COX pathway and/or 5-LO pathway, including osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Abstract:
A method for detecting and decoding a signal in a communication system based on Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO)-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). A signal is received through multiple receive antennas. A decision error occurring at a symbol decision time is considered and a symbol is detected from transmitted symbols. Original data transmitted from the detected symbol is recovered. The performance of a coded bit system can be significantly improved using a new equalization matrix G considering a decision error.

An apparatus and method of detecting whether data exists in a received signal while a mobile communication terminal is in discontinuous transmission mode is disclosed. The apparatus and method comprises generating and transmitting a forward power control command for providing the forward power control, and performing forward power control in a mobile communication system. According to the forward power control method, a power control command is generated based on a received frame including a plurality of slots each of which includes power control bits. The ratio of the power control bit energy to noise energy, which is given by a ratio of the accumulated energy of the power control bits in the slots of the received frame to an accumulated energy value of noise in the slots of the received frame, is provided, and the power control command based on a ratio of the accumulated energy value of traffic symbol bits in the slots to the accumulated energy value of the power control bits is generated when the provided ratio of the power control bits to noise is acceptable.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for transmitting a preamble for frame synchronization and channel estimation in a MIMO-OFDM communication system are provided. An OFDM communication system using Q transmit antennas generates a base preamble sequence including a CP and an orthogonal sequence. If Q≦ a predetermined number M, a preamble sequence for a kth antenna is S(t−(k−1)T/M). If Q>M and k≦M the preamble sequence transmitted for the kth antenna is S(t−(k−1)T/M). If Q>M and k>M, the preamble sequence for the kth antenna is (−1)(PS−1)S(t−(k−M−1)T/M). Here, S(t) is the orthogonal sequence, T is the period of the orthogonal sequence, and PS is an index indicating a transmission period of the preamble sequence. The preamble sequences are at least twice transmitted from the Q transmit antennas.

Provided is a synchronization apparatus and method for a receiver that performs synchronization in a digital domain and detects a transmission signal. The synchronization apparatus includes an Analog-to-Digital (A/D) converter for converting a received signal into a digital signal, a frequency synchronizer for synchronizing a frequency using the digital signal output from the A/D converter, a signal detection unit for detecting a transmission symbol from a signal synchronized by the frequency synchronizer, and a residual phase detector for compensating for a residual phase of the transmission symbol output from the signal detection unit and outputting the resulting transmission symbol. The frequency synchronizer is capable of accurately and efficiently compensating for a frequency offset by minimizing the time delay caused by subcarrier synchronization using an improved CORDIC algorithm.
Abstract:
An apparatus for detecting an on-off keying signal in a CDMA mobile station device is disclosed. A first calculator receives an on-off keying signal and a reference signal transmitted from a base station transmitter at a given transmission power level, despreads the received on-off keying signal, and generates a symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. A second calculator despreads the reference signal and generates a power level of the despread reference signal. A multiplier generates a variable threshold value by multiplying the power level of the despread reference signal by a gain determined by a ratio of the transmission power of the reference signal from the base station transmitter to the transmission power of the on-off keying signal from the base station transmitter. A comparator compares the variable threshold value with the symbol power level of the despread on-off keying signal. Further, a symbol detector detects the symbol of the on-off keying signal by comparing a comparison value from the comparator with a prescribed threshold value.
