    Abstract: An embodiment of the disclosure relates to a device and a method for wireless LAN communication in an electronic device. The electronic device includes a communication circuit configured to support a wireless LAN communication, at least one processor and a memory storing instructions which cause, when executed by the at least one processor, the electronic device to allow to be configured as a group client for direct communication with an external electronic device configured as a group owner, and in a state in which a first connection for the direct communication with the external electronic device has been established through a first communication protocol of the communication circuit and the external electronic device supports a cross connection, establish a second connection with the external electronic device for communication with an external network through a first AP to which the external electronic device is connected.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to an electronic device and an electronic device operation method. The electronic device may comprise: a communication circuit connected to an access point (AP) through a communication channel of a first frequency band and configured to carry out short-range wireless communication; and at least one processor, comprising processing circuitry, operatively connected to the communication circuit. At least one processor, individually and/or collectively, may be configured to: based on data transmitted or received through the AP, receive capability information of an external electronic device, related to a first communication scheme for generating a communication channel between the external electronic device and the electronic device; based on the capability information of the external electronic device, related to the first communication scheme, and capability information of the AP, check whether the external electronic device is capable of carrying out data transmission or reception through the first communication scheme which supports higher performance than a communication channel supported by the AP; and based on a result of the checking, carry out connection with the external electronic device using one communication scheme among the first communication scheme, or a second communication scheme which enables the generation of a communication channel between the external electronic device and the electronic device without using the AP.

    Abstract: According to an embodiment, an electronic device may include: a wireless communication circuit for performing short-range wireless communication with at least one external electronic device; a memory; and a processor operatively connected to the wireless communication circuit and the memory. The processor may perform the short-range wireless communication with the at least one external electronic device via the wireless communication circuit, form a first neighbor awareness networking (NAN) cluster with the at least one external electronic device, on the basis of the short-range wireless communication, transmit a short-range wireless signal to the at least one external electronic device included in the first NAN cluster, and inactivate an NAN cluster merging function of the at least one external electronic device, using the short-range wireless signal. Various other embodiments may be possible.

    Abstract: Provided is an electronic device including at least one communication module and at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to: establish, with an external device, a schedule including a time interval for a first frequency band and a time interval for a second frequency band to perform data communication with the external device supporting the first frequency band and the second frequency band, the first and second frequency bands having different coverage areas; determine a ratio of the time interval for the second frequency band based on a result of monitoring traffic in the first frequency band and the second frequency band according to the schedule indicates that traffic of the second frequency band having a smaller coverage area is present; and update the schedule to adjust the time intervals for the first frequency band and the second frequency band based on the determined ratio.
