Abstract: A method for managing sleep duration in a 5th Generation (5G) and a user equipment (UE) are provided. The method includes sending, by the UE, a plurality of data packets to a network in a connected mode discontinuous reception (cDRX) cycle and detecting, by the UE, an initiation of a retransmission timer associated with the plurality of data packets. The method includes determining, by the UE, if a retransmission of at least one data packet the plurality of data packets is required, and causing, by the UE, to sleep before an expiry of the retransmission timer, in response to determining that the retransmission of the at least one data packet of the plurality of data packets is not required.

Abstract: Embodiments herein provide a method for performing voice call performance by a user equipment (UE). A voice call is preferred for a cellular network over a Wi-Fi network, an IMS is registered over a 5G BS, the 5G BS is not supported for the voice call, and a Wi-Fi device and a 4G BS are supported for the voice call. The method includes: detecting an event related to the voice call; comparing signal strength of the Wi-Fi device and signal strength of the 4G BS; shifting an IMS registration from the 5G BS to the Wi-Fi device, upon determining that the signal strength of the Wi-Fi device is greater than the signal strength of the 4G BS; and initiating the voice call over the Wi-Fi device upon detecting a trigger for the voice call.

Abstract: Embodiments herein disclose UE based implementations to manage voice/video over new radio (VoNR)/EPSFB calls. In an embodiment, there can be a zero CQI reporting for indicating a signal deterioration during the VoNR call. In an embodiment, at least one of a Wi-Fi network or a dual SIM dual standby (DSDS) feature, a UE initiated fallback procedure and an internet bearer can be used for continuing the VoNR call. Various embodiments may reduce the call failures and manage calls on VoNR/5G which can be useful to the UE in volatile signal conditions.

Abstract: A method for random access channel (RACH) procedure in a wireless network by a user equipment (UE) is provided. Abstract: Methods and/or systems for power management by a user equipment (UE) in an uplink transmission. The method may include determining, whether feedback related to transmit power of the UE, from a network entity is available and determining a first transmit power of the UE based on the determination and at least one of a plurality of transmitting parameters associated with the UE, evaluating a first spectral efficiency of the UE upon transmitting data at the first transmit power in a predefined time duration, determining a plurality of second transmit power. The method may include evaluating a plurality of second spectral efficiencies and determining a maximum spectral efficiency among the first and the plurality of second spectral efficiencies and transmitting the data at final transmit power among the first and the second plurality of second spectral efficiencies, the final transmit power corresponds to the maximum spectral efficiency.

Abstract: A method for handling data, dangling in a new radio (NR) leg of a split bearer, by a user equipment (UE) is disclosed. The method comprises predicting occurrence of NR uplink (UL) leg switch; sending a buffer status report (BSR) pertaining to protocol data units (PDUs) in radio link control (RLC) layer and media access control (MAC) layer in the NR leg based on predicting the occurrence of NR UL leg switch; and initiating recovery of dangling PDUs in the NR leg after the occurrence of the NR UL leg switch, wherein the recovery includes sending the dangling PDUs to a long term evolution (LTE) leg of the split bearer.
