Abstract: Various embodiments of the disclosure relate to an electronic device for evaluating the quality of sleep and a method for operating the same. According to an embodiment, an electronic device comprises: a sensor module including at least one sensor, a memory, and at least one processor. The at least one processor may be configured to: obtain, from an external electronic device, sleep-related information detected by the external electronic device while a user is sleeping, analyze a sleep state of the user based on the sleep-related information, identify at least one sleep cycle based on sleep state information obtained by analysis of the sleep state, evaluate a sleep quality corresponding to a first sleep cycle among at least one sleep cycle based on the sleep state information and designated condition information, obtain result information based on the evaluation of the sleep quality, and store the result information in the memory.

Abstract: According to various embodiments of the present disclosure, an electronic device may comprise: at least one sensor, and at least one processor functionally connected with the at least one sensor. The at least one processor may be configured to: detect, through the at least one sensor, that a user of the electronic device is in a sleep state; based on detecting that the user is in the sleep state, obtain first biometric information through the at least one sensor; identify whether a first value indicated by the obtained first biometric information is decreased so that a difference between the first value and a second value determined based on first biometric information obtained in a designated state is greater than or equal to a designated value; based on identifying that the first value is decreased so that the difference between the first value and the second value is greater than or equal to the designated value, obtain second biometric information through the at least one sensor; and provide information related to sleep apnea based on the obtained second biometric information and second biometric information obtained in the designated state.

Abstract: An electronic device and method for measuring biometric information are provided. The electronic device includes at least one light emitter; light receiver; and a processor. The processor is configured to emit light outside of the electronic device through the at least one light emitter, obtain, through the light receiver, light reflected by an external object among the emitted light, obtain a signal generated based on at least a portion of the reflected light and corresponding to the external object, output guide information related to a location of the external object when the signal satisfies a first designated condition, and obtain biometric information about the external object when the signal satisfies a second designated condition. When a finger of a user finger of the electronic device is not accurately located at a bio sensor, by guiding an accurate grip location, biometric information about the user can be accurately measured.
