Abstract: A method for providing a preview and an electronic device for displaying a preview are provided. The electronic device includes a camera module, a display, a processor operatively connected to the camera module and the display, and a memory operatively connected to the processor, wherein the memory stores instructions which, when executed, cause the processor to acquire original image frames through the camera module, display, on the display, first preview image frames corresponding to the acquired original image frames, receive an input for requesting dynamic-tone-mapping-based recording, perform the dynamic-tone-mapping-based recording in response to the reception of the input, and while performing the dynamic-tone-mapping-based recording, generate second preview image frames by performing dynamic-tone-mapping processing to first preview image frames acquired after a time point at which the input is received, and display the generated second preview image frames on the display. Various other embodiments are possible.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for editing an image including dynamic tone metadata in an electronic device are provided. The electronic device includes a display, and at least one processor operatively connected to the display, wherein the at least one processor may be configured to generate a third image to be inserted between a first image and a second image continuous with the first image among a plurality of images belonging to video content, generate dynamic tone metadata of the third image based on dynamic tone metadata of the first image and the second image, and update the video content by adding the third image and the dynamic tone metadata of the third image.

Abstract: A method and electronic device are provided for providing a high dynamic range (HDR) image. The HDR image is obtained. A first area, in which the HDR image is displayed, and a second area, in which an image is displayed, are identified within a screen. The first area is white point-processed based on a first white point, and the second are is white point-processed based on a second white point that is set for a display of the electronic device and different from the first white point. The screen including the white point-processed first area and the white point-processed second area is displayed on the display.

Abstract: An electronic device comprises a camera; a memory configured to store a plurality of tone mapping information sets, each of the tone mapping information sets comprising image information of an image frame and tone mapping information of the image frame; and a processor, wherein the processor is configured to: select a tone mapping information set based on user input; acquire a first image frame captured through the camera; obtain a first feature of the first image frame by analyzing the first image frame; identify a second feature of second image frame corresponding to the selected tone mapping information set, based on image information of the second image frame; compare the first feature and the second feature; based on the comparison result, apply tone mapping to the first image frame using tone mapping information of the second image frame; and store image data of the first image frame, in the memory.

Abstract: An electronic device for controlling a frame rate and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes an image sensor, and a processor. The processor is configured to sequentially obtain a first image, a second image, and a third image through the image sensor at a first time interval, generate a synthesized image by using the first image and the third image, identify a similarity between the second image and the synthesized image, sequentially obtain a fourth image, a fifth image, and a sixth image through the image sensor, at a second time interval long than the first time interval, based on the similarity being equal to or greater than a first threshold value, and sequentially obtain the fourth image, the fifth image, and the sixth image through the image sensor, at the first time interval, based on the similarity being less than a first threshold value.
