Abstract: A method of distributing throughput intelligently amongst a plurality of applications residing at a User Equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes receiving, at the UE, recommended bit rate (RBR) information from a network node, the RBR information indicating a throughput value allocated to the UE, allocating a codec rate from the allocated throughput value to at least one voice over internet protocol (VoIP) application from the plurality of applications, and allocating, from remaining throughput value of the allocated throughput value, a bit rate to each of a plurality of non-VoIP applications from the plurality of applications, based on corresponding throughput requirement associated with the plurality of non-VoIP applications.

Abstract: A method of resource selection by a user equipment (UE) is provided. The method includes detecting a need of an uplink transmission having a plurality of transmission parameters for at least one application from a plurality of applications having an associated transmission requirement. The method includes determining a set of configured grant resources available to the UE along with the associated plurality of grant resource parameters. The method includes determining transmission capability for the set of configured grant resources by analyzing the grant resource parameters. The method includes selecting at least one configured grant resource from the set of configured grant resources satisfying at least one transmission requirement of the at least one application.

Abstract: Accordingly the embodiments herein provide a for providing a Radio Link Control (RLC) status report based on a configuration of a Packet Data Convergence Protocol (PDCP) entity of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless network system. The method comprises detecting, at the UE, that a RLC layer is configured to an Acknowledge Mode (AM), informing, at the UE, a t-reordering timer from the PDCP entity of the UE to a RLC entity of the UE, receiving, at the UE, a first Packet Data unit (PDU) by the entity and at least one second PDU by the RLC entity, detecting, by the UE, a PDU gap when the first PDU and the second PDU are not consecutive; providing, by the UE, the RLC status report to a transmitter side of the RLC entity of a network to recover packets missed in the PDU gap based on the t-reordering timer, and recovering, by the network, the packets based on the RLC status report.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as a Long Term Evolution (LTE).The present disclosure provides a method and system for enabling discontinuous reception (DRX) over an unlicensed band in cellular networks. In one embodiment, the method comprises of monitoring, by a user equipment (UE), an unlicensed channel at a pre-configured on period of a DRX cycle, wherein the UE wakes up during a DRX on period and sleeps during DRX off period, receiving an indication of extension of the DRX on period from an associated evolved node B (eNB) when the associated eNB is unable to acquire an unlicensed channel during a DRX on period of the licensed channel and continuously monitoring the unlicensed band for the extended DRX on period. The time period for extension of the DRX on period of the unlicensed channel is selected from a set of pre-specified extension values. The present disclosure further enables the UE to terminate monitoring of the DRX on period of the unlicensed channel upon receiving a stop monitoring indication from the associated eNB.

Abstract: A pre-5th-Generation (5G) or 5G communication system to be provided for supporting higher data rates Beyond 4th-Generation (4G) communication system such as Long Term Evolution (LTE). Methods and systems for adapting beamwidth of beams on NR physical channels are provided. Alignment between beams of a UE and a gNB is created by refining beam codebooks. Phase shifters and PAs/LNAs of antenna elements are tuned for refining the beam codebooks. Strength of a signal, received through different RX beams, is determined based on RSRP/SINR associated with the different RX beams. A direction is determined, along which RSRPs/SINRs associated with consecutive RX beams is increasing. A pair of RX beams is determined, the RSRP/SINR associated with a first beam being greater than e RSRP/SINR associated with a second beam, and the RSRP/SINR associated with the first beam is the greatest along the determined direction.
