The display panel includes a main display region, an auxiliary display region adjacent to the main display region in a first direction, and a notch region adjacent to the auxiliary display region in a second direction crossing the first direction, an image not being displayed in the notch region. The data modulator modulates a notch data corresponding to the notch region among an image data.

A display device according to some embodiments includes pixels divided into pixel rows arranged in a horizontal direction, and including a light emitting element, and a first transistor for applying a drive current to the light emitting element, and a sensing driver configured to receive a sensing value extracted from one or more of the pixels, wherein at least one pixel row of the pixel rows is configured to be driven in one frame including an emission period in which the light emitting element emits light after a data voltage is applied to the pixels, and an active sensing period for sensing a characteristic of the first transistor.

A liquid crystal display includes a signal controller to generate a plurality of start pulse signals based on a plurality of eye blinking signals during a predetermined mode of operation. The start pulse signals are generated in a manner different from a vertical synchronization signal. The start signals may be generated to have an irregular spacing which corresponds to the blinking signals, which may be different from a constant spacing used during display of moving images. The predetermined mode may be a still image mode.

A display device includes: a similar gray level block detector configured to detect a pixel data block in which a gray level difference between a plurality of pixel data included in an image signal is smaller than or equal to a threshold; a skin tone detector configured to detect the pixel data block including a skin tone; and a gamma processor configured to apply a first gamma to a plurality of pixel data included in the pixel data block when the pixel data block does not include the skin tone and apply a second gamma to the plurality of pixel data included in the pixel data block when the pixel data block includes the skin tone.
