    Abstract: A display device includes: a display panel including a first display area having a first light transmittance and a second display area having a second light transmittance that is higher than the first light transmittance; a camera module under the second display area that is configured to output a raw image signal; a compensation module configured to: activate in response to a compensation control signal; receive the raw image signal; and compensate the raw image signal through a compensation program utilizing a learning data-based deep learning algorithm to generate a compensation image signal; and a control module configured to control operations of the display panel, the camera module, and the compensation module.

    Abstract: A method for driving an electronic device is described. The method may include receiving light passing through a display panel, generating an image signal based on the light, compensating the image signal with a compensation algorithm to generate a compensated image signal, wherein the compensation algorithm is trained with training data including a first comparison image and a second comparison image, and displaying, on the display panel, a compensated image based on the compensated image signal, wherein the first comparison image is a target restoration image and the second comparison image is a composite image.

    Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a light guide plate disposed under the display panel, a light source disposed adjacent to one side surface of the light guide plate that generates a first light, a first refractive layer disposed between the light source and the one side surface of the light guide plate that has a refractive index greater than a refractive index of the light guide plate, and a second refractive layer disposed between the display panel and the light guide plate that has a refractive index less than the refractive index of the light guide plate. The first refractive layer includes a convex portion that protrudes into the one side surface of the light guide plate.
