    Abstract: A liquid crystal display (“LCD”) device includes: a first substrate having a first area that allows an image to be transmitted therethrough and a second area that blocks an image; a second substrate opposite to the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate; and a polarizing layer on the second substrate. The polarizing layer may include first polarizing patterns and second polarizing patterns, wherein, in a planar view, the first polarizing patterns overlap with the first area and the second polarizing patterns overlap with the second area.

    Abstract: A method for manufacturing a liquid crystal display, and the display formed thereby, the method including forming a first display panel including a thin film transistor and a pixel electrode connected to the thin film transistor, the thin film transistor including an auxiliary electrode, a semiconductor layer disposed on the auxiliary electrode, and a gate electrode disposed on the semiconductor layer, forming a second display panel including a common electrode, forming a liquid crystal layer including a plurality of liquid crystal molecules on the first display panel or the second display panel, bonding the first display panel and the second display panel, applying different voltages to the pixel electrode and the common electrode, and irradiating ultraviolet rays in the liquid crystal layer, to initially align the liquid crystal molecules.

    Abstract: An exemplary embodiment of the present inventive concept provides a display device including: a light unit configured to emit blue light; a color conversion panel disposed on the light unit; and a display panel disposed between the light unit and the color conversion panel to include a transistor. The color conversion panel includes: a substrate; a color conversion layer disposed between the substrate and the display panel to include a semiconductor nanocrystal; a transmission layer disposed between the substrate and the display panel; and a polarization layer disposed between the color conversion layer and the display panel and between the transmission layer and the display panel, and the display panel includes a blue light blocking film which overlaps the transistor, while the blue light blocking film includes a red color filter.
