    Abstract: A display device includes a substrate that includes a display area and a peripheral area that surrounds the display area; a display element disposed in the display area and that includes a pixel electrode, an emission layer, and an opposite electrode; a thin-film encapsulation layer that covers the display element and includes a first inorganic encapsulation layer, an organic encapsulation layer, and a second inorganic encapsulation layer; and at least one groove formed in the peripheral area, wherein at least a portion of the thin-film encapsulation layer fills the at least one groove, wherein the at least one groove is concave into a multi-layer structure that includes a first layer and a second layer disposed on the first layer, and the at least one groove has an undercut structure in which the second layer protrudes toward a center of the at least one groove.

    Abstract: A display panel includes a light emitting element layer comprising a pixel definition layer having an opening defined therethrough and a light emitting element disposed in the opening. The pixel definition layer includes a first barrier portion and a second barrier portion spaced apart from each other in a first direction to define a first space having a first length in the first direction. A first inorganic layer covers the light emitting element layer. The first inorganic layer includes an uneven upper surface corresponding to the first space. An organic layer is in contact with an upper surface of the first in layer. A first groove is defined by the upper surface of the first inorganic layer overlapping the first space. A thickness of the first inorganic layer overlapping the fist space varies. The organic layer is filled in the first groove.

    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a display device with a display panel, an input sensing unit, and a protective member. The input sensing unit is disposed on the display panel. The protective member includes an insulating material and is disposed on the input sensing unit. The protective member includes a first protective portion and a second protective portion disposed on the first protective portion, where a first modulus of the first protective portion is greater than a second modulus of the second protective portion. The second protective portion with the lower modulus absorbs external impacts, and the protective portion with the higher modulus disperses the absorbed impact and prevents the display panel from being deformed by an external force. Therefore, the impact resistance of the display device is improved.
