    Abstract: An optical compensation device includes a luminance measurer that measures display luminance of a display device including a plurality of areas. A gamma corrector corrects a gamma voltage so that a first area of the plurality of areas has a gamma characteristic corresponding to a target gamma value based on the display luminance, and calculates a gamma value for each of the plurality of areas based on the display luminance. An optical compensator calculates a compensation parameter for each grayscale based on the display luminance and the gamma value. A luminance deviation for each of plurality of areas of the display device is compensated based on the compensation parameter.

    Abstract: A head mounted display device includes a display unit divided into at least one first area and at least one second area, a lens unit which supplies an image displayed on the display unit to a user, and a frame which fixes the display unit and the lens unit thereto. The display unit includes a memory which stores first compensation data corresponding to the first area and second compensation data corresponding to the second area, and a position determiner which determines whether first data supplied from an outside belong to the first area or the second area.

    Abstract: In a method of generating compensation data for a display device, first color, second color, and third color compensation value sets may be obtained by capturing first color, second color, and third color images displayed by the display device, respectively, white, first color, second color, and third color loading luminances may be obtained by capturing white, first color, second color, and third color loading patterns displayed by the display device, respectively, first color, second color, and third color scale factors may be calculated by dividing a luminance decrease ratio of the white loading luminance by luminance decrease ratios of the first color, second color, and third color loading luminances, respectively, and the first color, second color, and third color compensation value sets and the first color, second color, and third color scale factors may be stored in the display device.
