Abstract:
A method of driving a display panel is proposed. The method includes determining whether an input image data represents a video image or a static image, determining whether an image transition occurs in the input image data when the input image data represents the static image, and inserting a plurality of image sticking compensation frames between normal frames in a low frequency driving when the image transition occurs in the input image data between the normal frames. The number of the image sticking compensation frame may be properly adjusted during a cycle of low frequency driving.
Abstract:
A method of compensating an image to be display on a display panel is disclosed. In one aspect, the method includes receiving a first input image and adjusting a contrast sensitivity of the first input image. The method also includes calculating a first derivative of luminance of a pixel included in the adjusted image, calculating a second derivative of the luminance of the pixel, and accumulating the first and second derivatives. The method further includes determining a burn-in causing boundary based at least in part on the accumulated first and second derivatives, receiving a second input image, and comparing the burn-in causing boundary to a boundary of the second input image to determine whether to apply burn-in compensation. The method finally includes compensating a portion of the second input image corresponding to the burn-in causing boundary based at least in part on an unsharpening filter.
Abstract:
A method for driving a display panel includes obtaining a first grayscale histogram based on input image data, generating a gamma curve by selectively changing an initial gamma curve based on at least one of the first grayscale histogram or a predetermined power mode, and generating output image data based on the input image data and the gamma curve. When the gamma curve is different from the initial gamma curve, the method includes changing an operating frequency of the display panel from a first frequency to a second frequency. The second frequency is lower than the first frequency. The operating frequency is changed to display an image frame corresponding to the output image data based on the second frequency.
