Abstract: A substrate-cutting method includes preparing a first substrate in which a plurality of first active areas spaced apart from each other and a first non-active area surrounding the first active areas are defined in a plane, forming an adhesive layer on the first substrate where the adhesive layer is disposed within the first active areas, disposing a second substrate in which a plurality of second active areas spaced apart from each other and a second non-active area surrounding the second active areas are defined in the plane, and cutting a cutting line of the second substrate, which corresponds to a boundary between the second active areas and the second non-active area, using a laser beam. The adhesive layer does not overlap the cutting line of the second substrate.

Said at least one layer includes a first end portion at the first area of the substrate and a second end portion at the second area of the substrate, and the first end portion has a greater surface roughness than a surface roughness of the second end portion.

Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display apparatus includes separating a mother substrate that includes a plurality of connected unit display apparatuses into a plurality of separated unit display apparatuses. Each separated unit display apparatus includes a display panel and at least one supporting unit attached below the display panel. The display panel includes a display substrate that has a pad area on which are disposed a plurality of pads and a thin film encapsulation layer on the display substrate. The method further includes consecutively cutting the display panel and the at least one supporting unit of each separated unit display apparatus along cutting lines in the pad area, where a first cut surface of the pad area of the display substrate and a second cut surface of the at least one supporting unit are respectively cut at different angles.

Abstract: A method includes: providing an unfinished set module for a display panel having an active area and a peripheral area adjacent to the active area and being foldable about a foldable axis extending in one direction, the active area including a hole formation area; selectively irradiating a laser beam along a path defined along a boundary between the hole formation area and the active area, the path including first paths spaced apart from each other in a direction substantially parallel to the foldable axis and second paths disposed between the first paths, at a first energy density and at second energy density different from the first energy density, wherein the laser beam is irradiated at the first energy density along the first paths and at the second energy density along the second paths; and forming a set module having a hole by removing the hole formation area from the unfinished set module.

Abstract: A polarization film includes: a base substrate in which a folding axis and a stretched axis are defined; and a deformation portion located at an edge of the base substrate. The stretched axis forms an angle of less than about 45° with respect to the folding axis. The display device, in which a folding area at which a folding axis is located and a non-folding area neighboring the folding area are defined, includes a display panel; a first adhesive layer on the display panel; and a polarization film on the first adhesive layer, where a stretched axis is defined in the polarization film. An angle between the folding axis and the stretched axis is less than about 45°.
