    Abstract: Systems and methods are described for a display panel and a method of manufacturing the display panel. The systems and methods may provide for a substrate having a first surface and a second surface that face each other, a display unit including an organic light-emitting device arranged on the first surface of the substrate; and a thin-film encapsulation layer arranged on the display unit to shield the display unit, wherein an edge of the first surface or an edge of the second surface are inclined with respect to the first surface or the second surface. The inclined surfaces are designed to prevent damage to the display due to fine cracks during the manufacturing process as the display panel is trimmed or cut from a single base member. A display panel having improved strength characteristics may be manufactured, as well.

    Abstract: A method of manufacturing a display panel includes preparing a work substrate that includes a mother substrate that has a plurality of cell areas, a light emitting element layer formed in each of the cell areas, and an encapsulation layer formed on each cell area, disposing a plurality of protective films in the cell areas, respectively, that cover the light emitting element layer and the encapsulation layer, cutting the work substrate along cutting lines at an outer side of the protective films of each cell area to form a preliminary display panel, grinding side surfaces of the preliminary display panel, and removing the protective films from each ground preliminary display panel to form the display panel.

    Abstract: An organic light-emitting display apparatus includes a substrate, a display on the substrate, a dam outside the display and spaced from the display, the dam having a stacked multi-layer structure and having a first side surface that faces the display, a second side surface opposite to the display, and a top, a groove in a separation area between the display and the dam, and an encapsulation layer that includes a first inorganic layer and an organic layer on the first inorganic layer, the first inorganic layer covering the display and extending along an inner surface of the groove, and an end of the organic layer being contained in the groove.

    Abstract: A display apparatus may prevent a thin-film encapsulation layer and a substrate or a thin-film encapsulation layer and a buffer layer from being separated from each other when a base layer and the substrate are cut. A display apparatus may include a display panel including a substrate, a display layer on the substrate, and a thin-film encapsulation layer covering the display layer; an input sensing member including a base layer facing the substrate of the display panel, and sensing electrodes above the base layer; and a resin layer between the thin-film encapsulation layer and the base layer, and an end of the thin-film encapsulation layer protrudes from the resin layer toward an end of the substrate.
