Abstract: The present invention provides a rubber composition which has excellent processability owing to its low rubber viscosity during kneading, despite containing a white filler, and which further has excellent fuel economy and excellent abrasion resistance. Also provided is a pneumatic tire formed from the rubber composition. The present invention relates to a rubber composition including: a rubber component, a white filler, and a compound represented by the formula (1) below, wherein X represents —CONH— or —COO—; R1 represents a C7-C23 alkyl group or a C7-C23 alkenyl group; R2 represents a C1-C3 alkylene group; and R3 and R4 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, a C1-C3 alkyl group, or a C1-C3 hydroxyalkyl group, and at least one of R3 or R4 is the hydroxyalkyl group.

The present invention relates to a rubber composition for tires, containing: a rubber component; an antioxidant; and polyether, the rubber component having a combined content of polybutadiene rubber, natural rubber, and polyisoprene rubber of 80% by mass or more per 100% by mass of the rubber component, the rubber composition containing the antioxidant in an amount of 0.3 to 7.0 parts by mass per 100 parts by mass of the rubber component, the polyether having an average mass content of at least two consecutive polyethylene oxide units of 85% or less of the polyethylene oxide mass content of the polyether.

Abstract: The present invention provides a pneumatic tire that can exhibit sufficient wet grip performance on roads in different areas. The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire including a tread, the tread showing a loss tangent (tan δ) versus temperature curve whose peak position is at −20.0° C. to 0.0° C. and whose tan δ at the peak position is 0.80 or higher, the curve being obtained by plotting tan δ as a function of measurement temperature, the curve having a tan δ at an intersection of a tangent line to the curve at a temperature lower by 20° C. than the peak position temperature and a tangent line to the curve at a temperature higher by 20° C. than the peak position temperature that satisfies the following relationship (1): (tan δ at peak position−0.05)≤(tan δ at intersection)≤(tan δ at peak position+0.05) (1).
