    Abstract: Provided are an upscaling device, an upscaling method, and an upscaling program capable of keying processing at low cost and with high accuracy. An upscaling device includes an image obtaining section configured to obtain a high-resolution input image illustrating a background and a foreground, a low-resolution input image obtained by converting the high-resolution input image into a low-resolution image, and a low-resolution alpha image illustrating a region of the foreground in the low-resolution input image; a correlation obtaining section configured to obtain correlation between grayscale information of the low-resolution input image and an alpha value of the low-resolution alpha image for each corresponding pixel pair of the low-resolution input image and the low-resolution alpha image, and upscale the correlation into a resolution of the high-resolution input image; and an output section configured to output a high-resolution alpha image having a resolution same as that of the high-resolution input image on a basis of the high-resolution input image and the upscaled correlation.

    Abstract: An information processing apparatus is provided in which an enlarged image that is updated in conjugation with a motion of a head of a user is displayed on a video display apparatus worn on the head of the user without making the user feel discomfort. Disclosed herein is an information processing apparatus connected to a video display apparatus worn on the head of the user displays a target image to be updated in conjugation with a change in the direction of the video display apparatus onto the video display apparatus and, at the same time, displays an enlarged image obtained by enlarging a part of the target image by superimposing the enlarged image on the target image with a size smaller than a display area of the target image.

    Abstract: An image generating apparatus generates a panoramic image by transforming at least one divided area including a range onto which a scene viewed from an observation point is projected, out of eight divided areas obtained by dividing the surface of a sphere having at least a partial range onto which the scene is projected, with three planes that pass through the center of the sphere and are orthogonal to each other, into such an area that the number of pixels corresponding to mutually equal latitudes is progressively reduced toward higher latitudes, and placing the transformed area on a plane, and outputs the generated panoramic image.

    Abstract: To prevent any variation of the grayscale to be originally present from becoming unclear, diminishing banding that is generated when an image including a gradation is displayed. An image processing device obtains image data of an original image including plural pixels, obtains an evaluation value that represents the possibility of the generation of the banding on the basis of the color distribution of a noted area including a target pixel that is any one of the plural pixels, produces an intermediate image of which the color of the target pixel is corrected on the basis of the evaluation value, and causes a corrected image to be output on the basis of the produced intermediate image. A correction amount of the color of the target pixel is varied in accordance with the evaluation value, in the correction of the color.
