To realize appropriately achieving input to two or more software applications in an information processing system that outputs speech corresponding to a request from a software application and recognizes a gesture made by a user who hears the speech to perform input to the software application. There is provided an information processing apparatus including a reception unit configured to be capable of obtaining information regarding a request from two or more software applications, a speech control unit configured to control an output of speech corresponding to the request, a gesture recognition unit configured to recognize a gesture made by a user with respect to the speech corresponding to the request, and an input processing unit configured to calculate information regarding an input by the user in response to the request by analyzing the gesture on the basis of an algorithm uniformly defined for the two or more software applications.

There is provided an information processing device, an information processing method, and a computer program that enable to switch communication between virtual space and real space smoothly. The information processing device includes a communication control unit that controls communication performed in virtual space in which a virtual image corresponding to a real image of a user present in real space is created, interactively between users through the virtual image of the user; a user-information acquiring unit that acquires position information regarding a position of the user in the real space and attribute information including at least information regarding intimacy between the users at predetermined timing; and a switching control unit that controls switching between communication performed in the real space and communication performed in the virtual space according to at least either one of the position information and the attribute information.

There is provided an information processing apparatus including a signal generation unit, a first determination unit, and a second determination unit. The signal generation unit processes an output of a sensor unit attached to a detection target, and generates a trigger signal at a time when a state change of the detection target is detected. The first determination unit is brought out of hibernation and activated when receiving the trigger signal, determines the state change of the detection target from the output of the sensor unit by a first determination criterion, and outputs a determination impossibility signal in a case where the determination is impossible. The second determination unit is brought out of hibernation and activated when receiving the determination impossibility signal, and determines the state change of the detection target from the output of the sensor unit by a second determination criterion different from the first determination criterion.

When first sensor information is input to an information processing unit in an information processing apparatus, the information processing unit detects a trigger operation according to a type of the first sensor information. Moreover, the information processing unit recognizes a gesture operation by a user as an operation input on the basis of second sensor information operation. In addition, the information processing unit determines the operation input on the basis of a combination of the detected trigger operation and the recognized gesture operation. According to the information processing apparatus, it is possible that the operation input is diversified without imposing a burden on the user.
