摘要: Devices and systems for repairing bone fractures and more specifically a fracture repair plate that provides for fixation of a metaphysis to the diaphysis of a long bone, for instance a fracture between the proximal humerus and the diaphysis of the humerus. The fracture repair system includes an implantable repair fracture repair plate and a bone anchor for fixing the fracture repair plate to a bone. In one embodiment, the fracture repair plate may also be adapted to serve as an anchor for a suture. The fracture repair system may also include a fracture reduction mechanism attachable to the fracture repair plate for imparting a controlled translational movement between two bone segments along a plane that lies substantially parallel to the surface of the bone to which the fracture repair plate is attached and substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the bone shaft.

摘要: A humeral head prosthetic device including a chassis and a head attached or attachable to the chassis. In the preferred embodiment, the chassis includes a tapered and multifaceted anchor element attached to and projecting distally from a base element, the configuration of the tapered and multifaceted anchor element adapted to counter rotation of the chassis once it is impacted into the humeral head. The preferred embodiment of humeral head prosthetic device also includes one or more blind holes each of the blind holes or slots being defined in part by a penetrable wall, each of the blind holes including a wall that may be readily penetrated in order permit insertion of a tool to aid in removal of the prosthesis where such removal is required.

摘要: The present invention is directed to a modular assembly for an arthroplasty in a long bone and methods for achieving an anatomically accurate reconstruction. A modular arthroplasty assembly includes the components of: a convertible offset coupler bounded on a first side by an implant surface adapted to receive an implant component, and bounded on an opposite second side by a bone anchor engagement surface, prosthesis component and a bone anchor configured to be inserted in bone and adapted for engagement with the convertible offset coupler. Together, the components of the system, including the array of selectable engagement orientations of the components, enables adaptation to the existing anatomy of the patient and the ability to most closely achieve the native anatomy of the healthy shoulder joint so as to provide the patient with the most natural use of the joint. The system also provides a solution for reverse arthroplasty and conversion from anatomically correct to reverse that avoids a boney procedure on revision and minimizes humeral distalization.
