Abstract: An electronic device for taking a pre-action and a method therefor are provided. The electronic device includes a wireless communication circuitry configured to support a Bluetooth protocol and at least one processor operatively connected with the wireless communication circuitry. The at least one processor is configured to establish a first link based on the Bluetooth protocol with a first external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry, receive a first message for requesting to perform a first pre-action for establishing a second link between the first external electronic device and a second external electronic device from the first external electronic device, using the wireless communication circuitry, perform the first pre-action for establishing the second link with the second external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry, transmit a second message for reporting a result of the first pre-action to the first external electronic device using the wireless communication circuitry.

The at least one processor is configured to transmit, through UWB circuit operating in a first mode, a first signal for a first field in a first frame, transmit, through UWB circuit operating in the first mode, a second signal including designated information for a second field in the first frame, receive, through UWB circuit operating in the first mode, a first reflected signal related to the first signal and a second reflected signal related to the second signal, respectively, caused by an external object, according to a state of the designated information identified from the second reflected signal, obtain information on the external object based on the first reflected signal or transmit a second frame through UWB circuit operating in a second mode.

Abstract: According to various example embodiments of the present invention, an electronic device may comprise: a sensor module; a first communication circuit supporting a first communication scheme; a low-power processor; and a processor operatively connected to the sensor module, the first communication circuit, and the low-power processor, wherein the first communication circuit transmits a request signal related to a state of the electronic device to the low-power processor on the basis of distance measurement-related information provided from the processor, receives information related to the state of the electronic device from the low-power processor in response to the request signal, and measures a distance to an external electronic device on the basis of the information related to the state of the electronic device. Other embodiments may also be possible.

The UWB communication module may be configured to: receive first data of an UWB data frame from an external electronic device by using a first antenna set including at least two antennas among the plurality of antennas to measure a first angle of arrival (AOA); receive second data of the UWB data frame by using a second antenna set including at least two antennas among the plurality of antennas to measure a second AOA, where the second antenna set is configured during a section of the UWB data frame that does not include data; and measure the direction of the external electronic device by using the first AOA and the second AOA. It is possible to provide various other embodiments.
