Abstract: A display device includes a substrate, a circuit layer on the substrate, a display layer on the circuit layer, at least one hole in a display area of the substrate that penetrates the substrate, the circuit layer, and the display layer, and at least two grooves that surround the at least one hole, where each of the at least two grooves has an undercut structure. The substrate includes a first substrate, a first inorganic layer, a second substrate, and a second inorganic layer, which are sequentially stacked, and each of the at least two grooves extends down from the display layer into the second substrate.

Abstract: A display device includes: a substrate defining an opening and including a display area and a non-display area between the opening and display area, a pixel array including a plurality of pixels in the display area, each of the pixels having a pixel electrode, an opposite electrode facing the pixel electrode, and an intermediate layer between the pixel electrode and opposite electrode, a plurality of data lines bypassing the opening in the non-display area, first and second insulating layers, which cover the plurality of data lines, a conductive layer between the first and second insulating layers, and a thin film encapsulation layer covering the pixel array, the thin film encapsulation layer including at least one organic encapsulation layer and at least one inorganic encapsulation layer, and wherein, in the non-display area, a first groove is defined by the first insulating layer, the conductive layer, and the second insulating layer.

Abstract: A display panel including a glass substrate having an opening area, and a display area at least partially surrounding the opening area; a thin film transistor on the display area including a semiconductor layer and a gate electrode; a display element electrically connected to the thin film transistor; a multi-layer including an insulating layer and a lower insulating layer. The insulating layer is between the glass substrate and the display element and the lower insulating layer is between the glass substrate and the insulating layer; and a thin-film encapsulation layer covering the display element including an inorganic encapsulation layer and an organic encapsulation layer. The multi-layer includes a first groove between the opening area and the display area. A first width of a portion of the first groove in the lower insulating layer is greater than a second width of a portion of the first groove in the insulating layer.

Abstract: A display device capable of improving reliability (e.g., impact resistance) of a display panel having a through-hole, and a method of manufacturing a display device are provided. A display device includes: a camera module including a lens; a display panel including a through-hole overlapping the camera module on a plane; a window glass on the display panel; and a filling member in the through-hole and opposing each of the camera module and the window glass. A refractive index difference between an end portion of the filling member and the lens is about 0.7 or less, and a refractive index difference between another end portion of the filling member and the window glass is about 0.5 or less.

A flow-restriction portion is disposed in a region between the first groove and the second groove that protrudes upwards from the substrate and confines an organic encapsulation layer of the encapsulation layer.
