Abstract: A foamed material includes specific amounts of a polystyrene, an organophosphate ester, and a poly(phenylene ether) or a poly(phenylene ether)-polysiloxane block copolymer or a combination thereof. The material is foamed with a C3-C5 alkane blowing agent. The foamed material is useful as insulation in the construction of walls and ceilings.
