摘要:
A method and apparatus for operating an intermediate-temperature solid-oxide fuel cell stack (10) with a mixed ionic/electronic conducting electrolyte in order to increase its efficiency. The required power output of the sold-oxide fuel cell stack (10) is determined and one or more operating conditions of the solid fuel cell stack (10) are controlled dependent upon the determined required power output. The operating conditions that are controlled may be at least one or the temperature of the fuel cell stack and the dilution of fuel delivered to the fuel cell stack.

A method of fuelling an intermediate-temperature solid oxide fuel cell comprises providing a fuel rich in carbon monoxide to an anode region, after the fuel has contacted a water gas shift reaction catalyst in the region of the anode, so that the water gas shift reaction occurs due to the presence of residual water in the fuel, and/or steam produced at the anode. A fuel cell assembly comprises a gas impermeable electrolyte between an anode and a cathode, first means for the supply of oxidant to the cathode, and second means for the supply of fuel to the anode that comprises a water gas shift reaction catalyst to catalyse the water gas shift reaction between carbon monoxide in the fuel and water/steam occurring as a residual in the fuel or from the reaction at the anode. A method also applies a catalyst to a metal substrate by ink-jet printing.

The present invention is concerned with methods for the deposition of ceramic films on ceramic or metallic surfaces, particularly the deposition of sub-micron thickness ceramic films such as films of stabilised zirconia and doped ceria such as CGO (cerium gadolinium oxide). The present invention is particularly useful in the manufacture of high and intermediate temperature operating fuel cells including solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) and also metal supported intermediate temperature SOFC operating in the 450-650° C. range.

A system and method are provided for exchanging heat in fuel cell systems (100) in which the anode and cathode off-gases are provided with separated flow paths. In one embodiment, where a fuel cell stack (110) has separate anode and cathode off-gas flow paths, separate anode off-gas from the at least one fuel cell stack (110) and at least one heat transfer fluid are passed through a first heat exchange element (126) to exchange heat between the anode off-gas and the heat transfer fluid. The cathode off-gas exiting the at least one fuel cell stack is then combined with the anode off-gas from the heat exchange element (126) in a burner and burned.

A system for displaying a tree map visualization including a processor, a memory device, and program code resident in the memory device. The program code is executable by the processor to prioritize data in a data set so as to associate a priority with respective elements of the data in the data set, to predefine a pattern that reflects a desired display pattern for the associated priority of the elements of the data in the data set, to generate the tree map visualization that positions within a display space, and to display the tree map visualization on a display device.

Methods for displaying a set of hierarchical data and a set of non-hierarchical data on an electronic display comprise displaying at least part of the set of hierarchical data in a tree diagram that has a plurality of levels with one or more nodes present at each level, and displaying the set of non-hierarchical data in a plurality of auxiliary nodes that are provided in between levels of the tree diagram. Expansion handles may also be displayed adjacent nodes in the tree diagram. These expansion handles may be configured to expand or collapse the tree diagram at the node they are adjacent to. The expansion handles may optionally be configured to display or hide selected of the auxiliary nodes.

A fast-path navigation method and system may include facilitating selection of a destination node in a multi-layered system for bookmarking. The fast-path navigation method and system may also include facilitating selection of a source node in the multi-layered system and creating a fast-path or direct link from the source node to the bookmarked destination node.

An improved solution for displaying a topology. A user can selectively adjust a baseline that is used to alter the emphasis of one or more topologic items for the topology. In response to an adjusted baseline, more or fewer topologic items can be displayed at full emphasis and/or de-emphasized. As a result, the user is allowed to dynamically select a desired emphasis level for viewing the topology.

The use of accessibility devices such as a screen reader is facilitated by synopsizing large data sets in a synopsis container data structure. A synopsis of the large data set is generated and included in the synopsis container. The large data set is also included in the synopsis container. The synopsis container may include additional attributes, such as a flag indicating whether or not to output the large data set. In one embodiment the synopsis container is an HTML data structure defined by HTML tags using a CONTAINER keyword. The data structure includes the large data set, formatted as an HTML TABLE or the like. A conventional browser display may output the large data set, and an accessibility system such as a screen reader may output only the synopsis of the large data set.
