摘要: The present invention relates generally to the field of articles of manufacture in the form of a shaped article comprising a blend of polymers wherein all, or some of, one or more surfaces of the shaped article is coated with a covering material, wherein the covering material has a different composition than the shaped article, and, wherein the shaped article comprises either: a) an immiscible blend of polymers having more than one glass transition temperature and one of the polymers has a glass transition temperature greater than 180° Celsius; b) a miscible blend of polymers having a single glass transition temperature greater than 217° Celsius; or, c) a single virgin polymer having a glass transition temperature of greater than 247° Celsius. The present invention is also directed to light source reflectors comprising a polymer according to a), b) or c) above.

摘要: A process for preparing polyimide resins comprises stirring a diamine and a dianhydride in a solvent to form a slurry; heating the slurry to a temperature sufficient for the diamine and dianhydride to react wherein the temperature is below the melting point of the dianhydride, below the melting point of the diamine, or below the melting points of the dianhydride and diamine; and reacting the diamine and dianhydride to form a polyimide having sufficient molecular weight to precipitate from the solvent.

摘要: Polyimide sulfone resins are provided with a glass transition temperature of from 200-350° C., residual volatile species concentration of less than 500 ppm and a total reactive end group concentration of less than about 120 milliequivalents/kilogram resin. The resins have high heat capability and good melt stability. Methods to prepare the said resins and articles made from the resins are also provided.

摘要: A composition comprising at least one high Tg amorphous resin with a fibrous filler shows improved melt processability. Addition of a sulfonate salt to the compositions gives increased melt flow as well as enhanced flame retardancy in a composition which is substantially free of bromine and chlorine.

In one embodiment the polyetherimide film has a glass transition temperature that ranges from about 260° C. to about 350° C. and the polyetherimide has a melt viscosity range from about 200 to about 10,000 Pascal-seconds at 425° C. as measured by ASTM method D3835.
