The present invention provides polyester/polyurethane/vinyl dioxolane based coating compositions containing no or essentially no volatile organic components. Oligomers for forming the coating compositions of the present invention are vinyl dioxolane end-capped polyesters and polyurethane oligomers.
Abstract:
The present invention provides radiation curable resin compositions having enhanced low temperature flexibility and to methods of using these compositions. The radiation curable resin compositions contain no or essentially no volatile organic components (VOCs), and find particular use as coating compositions. In particular, the radiation curable resin compositions of this invention comprise a vinyl dioxolane end-capped oligomer blended with a photoinitiator.

Abstract:
The present invention provides degradable curable resin compositions containing no or essentially no volatile organic components. Oligomers for forming the coating compositions of the present invention are vinyl dioxolane end-capped oligomers having an enzyme degradable segment.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to composite solid polymer electrolyte membranes (SPEMs) which include a porous polymer substrate interpenetrated with a water soluble ion-conducting material. SPEMs of the present invention are useful in electrochemical applications, including fuel cells and electrodialysis.
Abstract:
Processes for producing oriented films of semicrystalline thermoplastic polymers, such as polyimides, and films produced thereby are disclosed. One process includes partial crystallization or imidization, orientation and further crystallization or imidization. Another process includes rendering a film of semicrystalline thermoplastic polymer amorphous, orienting the film and introducing crystallinity.
Abstract:
The subject invention relates to methods and materials for making porous resin rigidified shaped articles suitable for filters, surgical trays, and the like, which comprises the steps of impregnating a non-woven fabric with a predetermined amount of thermoplastic or thermosetting water-based epoxy resin; partially curing the resin-impregnated fabric; and, thereafter molding the partially cured fabric into a desired shape with sufficient heat to advance the curing of the resin.
Abstract:
Bis-ethynyl quinoxaline compositions are prepared by the condensation reaction of an aromatic diglyoxyl or dibenzil with an ethynyl-substituted aromatic ortho-diamine. The compositions are useful as polymerizable plasticizers for heterocyclic thermoplastic resins in the fabrication of composites. Polymerizable plasticizers are materials that remain fluid and act as a plasticizer during early stages of fabrication and then polymerize to a rigid resin.
Abstract:
Substituted phenyl-benzimidazo compounds are disclosed in which the phenyl group which is attached to the two position of the imidazo ring contains a carboxylic acid group, or derivatives thereof, para to the point of imidazo attachment. The benzimidazo is substituted in the 5,6 positions with amino groups or derivatives thereof. The compounds are particularly useful as AB-monomers in the preparation of poly [(2,6-imidazobenzimidazo)1,4-phenylene].
