    摘要: Electrical receptacle connectors are provided including an insulative housing and AC power contacts disposed therein that are configured for engaging an external power supply. The receptacle connectors are employed with a safety guard for restricting operator access to hot AC power contacts when disconnected from complementary header connectors. Preferred safety guards include projections extending along at least a portion of perimeter areas surrounding housing apertures that provide access to engaging portions of the AC power contacts. The projections define a safety gap between human digits directed toward the housing apertures and the AC power contacts.

    摘要: A drill bit having a nozzle for drilling fluid to pass out of the drill bit and into the bore hole is disclosed. In one embodiment two diagonal passages through the nozzle impart angular momentum to the drilling fluid. In another embodiment, four diagonal passages through the nozzle impart angular momentum. In still another embodiment, a central bore hole through the nozzle has helical grooves along its internal orifice wall to impart angular momentum. The angular momentum causes the drilling fluid exiting from the interior of the drill bit to flow downward into the bore hole in a divergent vortex that sweeps the cuttings away from the cutting surfaces of the drill bit.

    摘要: An improved retainer for a rotary cone rock bit and a method for inserting the same is disclosed. A cone cutter is mounted on a bearing pin of an arm of the rotary cone drill bit. Formed in the bearing pin and the inner wall of the cone cutter is an annular channel that is filled with discs through an insertion cavity and the insertion cavity is subsequently sealed. This enables the bearing surface and the bushing engaging the bearing pin to be substantially longer than heretofore possible and the wobble of the cone cutter about the bearing pin is reduced.

    摘要: A deposition unit having a cathode surface is submerged in a natural body of moving water containing various materials including metallic materials carried by the flow of movement of the water body. The flow of water encompasses the deposition unit and contacts the cathode surface. An electric current at the cathode surface causes electrodeposition of certain materials contained within the flow of moving water. The electrical energy for electrodeposition is derived from a naturally occurring and proximate energy source at the body of water. Energy from tidal flow, from water movement beneath the surface, from wave motion at the upper surface, or from a temperature difference between the upper and lower levels of the water body, operates an electrical generator which supplies the electrodeposition energy. The flow of water relative to the deposition unit cooperatively interacts with magnetic flux emanating from another embodiment of the deposition unit to establish the electrodeposition energy. Other sources of proximate naturally occurring energy for effecting electrodeposition are wind energy and solar energy.

    摘要: Apparatus is disclosed for milling metal submerged in salt water or within a hole, such as cutting off the upper ends of pipes and casings in a well-drilling operation below the sea floor. A hydraulic motor is suspended in the hole and driven by sea water to rotate an electrical generator and to rotate a cutting tool. The tool includes radially movable, electrically conductive elements which form the cathodes of an electrochemical machining operation for removing metal. The tool elements include abrasive material so that they can mechanically cut through cement.
