    摘要: An electromagnetic indicator capable of binary indication including a rotatably mounted semicircular flag assembly which can rotate between a first position ("set") and a second position ("fault") upon the receipt by the indicator of an electrical signal. A portion of the flag assembly is permanently magnetized and is magnetically latched in either the "set" or "fault" position by a magnetic latch which is preferably comprised of a bracket and core bar. The bracket has two ends which are positioned so that they are adjacent the magnetized portion of the flag assembly. The core bar is magnetically connected to an electromagnet and is also positioned adjacent a magnetized portion of the flag assembly. When the electromagnet is connected to the appropriate terminal of an electrical power source, the electromagnet generates a magnetic field, magnetizes the two ends of the bracket means and the core bar, and causes the flag assembly to flip from the "set" position to the "fault" position, or vice versa. After the electromagnet is disconnected from source, the flag assembly is magnetically latched in either the "set" or "fault" position by the magnetic attraction between the bracket, and the core bar on the one hand and the magnetized portion of the flag assembly on the other hand.

    摘要: A binary indicator including a pair of indicator discs mounted along a common axis has means for damping rotational movement of a resetting structure in one direction following movement imparted to the resetting structure in the other direction for purposes of resetting the relative positions of the indicator discs to their relative positions prior to their relative relocation occasioned by a fault or malfunction condition. One indicator disc undergoes movement, the movement in both directions being induced magnetically. And, movement of the resetting structure in the other rotational direction is against the forces of rotational elasticity of spring means. A force for damping rotational movement of the resetting structure in the one rotational direction is developed by viscous-shear frictional engagement between a pair of friction discs biased into juxtaposition with a viscous film therebetween by the spring means under compression.

    摘要: An indicator flag is movable alternately into one of a plurality of display positions thereby to provide a distinguishable visual indication in each position. The indicator flag carried by a movable assembly is actuated by electromagnetic means and the movable assembly is latched in each display position.     摘要: Apparatus and methods for storing and transporting electronic devices. A housing includes a base, opposing sides, a movable cover, and an open lower end. The base has a cutout portion at the lower end. The movable cover is generally coextensive with and parallel to the base, and is resiliently biased into a normally closed position. The cover includes an access aperture at the lower end. Stop means are also provided at the lower end, partially blocking the opening and preventing a stored device from falling out of the housing's lower end. The cutout portion and the aperture allow entry of the user's hand into the housing for either insertion or withdrawal of the device. During either process, the user's hand causes the cover temporarily to be raised into an open position. A sling, a backpack harness, or a handle may be selectively attached to the housing for transport or storage.
