Abstract:
A panel-like/sheet-like finishing element (11) for covering floors and walls, for example in the renovation of old buildings, is provided with heat-insulating and sound-absorbing properties if its interior (15) is provided, between outer covering layers (12, 13), with channel-forming undulating supporting structures (16) filled with high-density coarse granules (21). The supporting structures (16) are connected to the covering layers (12, 13) along the vertex lines (17) so as to provide wet-strength action, and the interior (15), between these covering layers, is sealed by enclosing edging strips (19) to provide wet-strength action, with the simultaneous inclusion of moisture-tight, but vapour-permeable, supporting layers (20) on covering layers (12, 13). If this finishing element (11) is mounted vertically, the granule-filled channels (14) run horizontally.

Abstract:
A system and method for delivering digital subscriber line (DSL) service to a subscriber. In a telecommunications network, the signal passing through a protector field is diverted to a cross connect block that can be selectively configured to establish a communication route between the cross connect block and a splitter selectively receiving a DSL signal. The combined signal is then placed back upon the network by the cross connect block, which directs the combined signal back to the protector field.
Abstract:
An architecture integrates spreadsheet functionality into tables commonly used in word processing programs and HTML documents. The architecture presents a table user interface (UI) that resembles a table when not being edited and adds spreadsheet elements to the table when being edited. Underlying the table UI, the architecture separates data handling functions from, presentation functions. The architecture includes a table appearance manager to manage how the table appears in a document including such characteristics as table resizing, selection, cut, copy, paste, split, merge, table formatting and so on. The architecture also has a spreadsheet functionality manager to manage the spreadsheet functions for the table, such as recalculation, formula handling, sorting, referencing, and the like. The bifurcated architecture supports cross-table referencing, reference editing, automatic universal recalculation throughout all tables in the document, and nested table structures in which one table is nested within a cell of another table.

Abstract:
A user interface (UI) in the form of a single navigable window enables a user to navigate to and between multiple different functionalities that are provided by a single application program. Novel use is made of a navigation model that manages the user's navigation activities to and between the different functionalities. Navigation instrumentalities enable the user to navigate among the different functionalities and include links to each of the different functionalities as well as browser-like navigation buttons. Context-sensitive command sets can also be provided along with the single navigable window. The context sensitive command sets include commands that automatically change as the user's computing context changes, e.g. as the user moves from functionality to functionality. The single application can be defined as a software platform that is extensible to receive and incorporate different functionalities. The functionalities can be provided as software modules that can be sent over a network such as the Internet. The extensible software platform provides a basis to offer a subscriber or fee-based service where different subscribers can, for a fee, access different functionalities via a network such as the Internet.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tool includes a fluid motor with a rotor and passages for connecting the rotor with a source of fluid under pressure. A normally open valve is interposed in the passages and movable to a closed position in which it interrupts the flow of fluid to the rotor. An actuator is located on the rotor and operative, in response to the rotor exceeding a predetermined speed of revolutions, to move from a neutral into an actuating position in which it engages the valve and moves the same to the closed position thereof.
Abstract:
A system and method for delivering digital subscriber line (DSL) service to a subscriber from a remote terminal of a telephone network. Included is a first route for delivering a telephone signal to the subscriber, and a second route for passing the telephone signal through a DSL system before delivering the signal to the subscriber. A disrupter is then used to selectively activate either the first or second route.
