摘要： In the needle selection device on a knitting machine equipped with a Jacqd mechanism, the knitting needles can be brought into various positions in which they are inactive, or are active for knitting, for forming tuck loops and for the transfer of stitches, with the aid of cam means on the carriage. In order to create a needle selection device which is simple in structure and is functionally reliable, blocking levers corresponding in number to the number of needle channels and arranged in accordance with the gauge of the needle separation are provided on a mounting rib extending over the length of the needle bed. At each selection position, on the carriage, there is provided a cam element for pivoting the blocking lever and also an electromagnet controllable for needle selection and having associated therewith a tripping pin for pivoting the blocking lever. The knitting needles, when selected for work, are held in pivoted positions by the respective blocking levers located in blocking positions, either directly or by way of a tilting lever associated with each needle. In order to avoid continuing vibration of the blocking levers following their pivotal movements two permanent magnets may be arranged on the carriage opposite the respective lever arms of each blocking lever.

The control members are on levers in the cam means movable by respective eccentrics, or cams, or by the pattern lever feet between two of the feet located successively in the direction of movement of the cam means and are retained in selected positions by electromagnetically controlled levers.

摘要： A flat bed knitting machine with either a reciprocal or a rotatable carriage has a pattern mechanism in which needles are carried on a needle bed, each needle being operatively associated with a pattern sinker and a selection sinker having first and second parts, which parts can be connected together in a variety of relative positions. The rear portion of the first selector sinker part overlies the front portion of the second, and the connection is effected over these portions, the front portion of the first part being shaped so as to be depressible by the pattern sinker to permit the connection to be changed. The second selector sinker part has a butt or cam element operably engageable by cam means carried by the carriage and the first selector part has one or two such butts.

Stitch cams presettable in a plurality of different positions according to a desired knitting pattern are provided, and an adjustably positioned ramp in the needle bed fixed to a slide is adapted to displace a cooperating stitch cam into a selected position. Means are provided on the carriage for clamping the stitch cam in the position to which it has been displaced by the ramp and a slide to which the ramp is attached is raisable by control cam means preceding knitting cams in the carriage.

摘要： A straight knitting machine having two needle beds with knocking-over combsisposed in an inverted V-shaped configuration and a sliding carriage located above said needle beds is further provided with horizontal stop edges on said combs beneath the crossover zone of the needles associated with said needle beds for preventing the upward movement of the knitted piece upon activation of the needles. A pair of rotatable heads are mounted on a common support movable with said carriage with each head having a layering device mounted thereon and displaced 90.degree. from a stripping device and a hold down device which are also mounted on each rotatable head. The heads are rotatable at the end of each traversing movement of the carriage so as to locate the layering device and hold down device of one head in advance of the knitting zone and the layering device of the other head in trailing relation to the knitting zone during a subsequent pass of the carriage.
