    摘要: A flat knitting machine structure with an adjustable gap between two knock-over bits includes two needle beds and two cam systems. Each needle bed comprises a plurality of needles and a plurality of knock-over bits. Each needle comprises a butt. Each of the knock-over bits comprises a control butt. The two needle beds are disposed at interval so that the knock-over bits face each other to define a gap. The distance of the gap is equal to a space between two knock-over bits facing each other. Each cam system comprises a needle cam to provide the plurality of butts being placed and guide each needle to make a knitting stroke towards the gap, and a knock-over bit cam provides the control butts being placed. The knock-over bit cam is controlled to define a displacement stroke for driving the plurality of knock-over bits to change the size of the gap.

As an example, the combination feeder may include a feeder arm that reciprocates between a retracted position and an extended position. In manufacturing the knitted component, the feeder inlays the strand when the feeder arm is in the extended position, and the strand is absent from the knitted component when the feeder arm is in the retracted position. A dispensing tip disposed at the end of the feeder arm supplies the strand for inlaying in a location disposed below the intersection of the planes of the needle beds and for one or more of knitting, tucking, and floating in a location disposed above the intersection of the planes of the needle beds.

Feeders may be used to knit the knitted component and a combination feeder may also inlay an inlaid strand within the knitted component.     摘要: A device for the control of a flat-bed knitting machine for needle selection and/or the determination of the position of the carriages on the needle beds is provided with a pulse generator device having magnetically controllable resistors in the form of double differential magnetoresistors and being fixed on a first machine element, and with a magnetically conductive pulse generator board device being fixed on a second machine element. The two machine elements are movable in relation to each other and the magnetoresistors generate separate and phase-shifted in respect to each other pulse sequences during the relative movement to the pulse generator board device. So that in a device a control, especially of the needle selection, can take place at considerably higher speed a determination of direction, and if needed, an adjustment to the speed of the carriage being possible at the same time, it has been provided that the pulse generator board device has a first pulse generator board arranged along a needle bed, the tooth/grove gauge of which is finer that the finest needle gauge in the needle bed, that a pulse generator, fixed on the carriage, is associated with the first pulse generator board, the magnetoresistors of which are distant by approximately .lambda..sub.1 /4 (.lambda..sub.1 being the size of the impulse period), and that at predetermined intervals several successive first rectangular control pulses (I-VIII) are derived from the first pulse sequences phase-shifted by .lambda..sub.1 /4 (A.sub.FP, B.sub.FP) by detecting the crossover and comparing the normalized pulse sequences.

    摘要: A synchronizing device for the selection of individual knitting needles in a straight and circular knitting machine to operate according to a desired knitting pattern includes a synchronizing rail of a magnetizable material arranged on a stationary selection needle bed and cooperating with a magneto-resistive sensor arranged on a circulating knitting carriage. The sensor includes a permanent magnet whose magnetix flux is directed perpendicularly to the synchronizing rail, and four magneto-resistive webs arranged side by side in the magnetic flux and at right angles to the direction of circulation of the carriage. The webs are connected in a bridge circuit generating positive and negative analog signals which are compared in comparators with fixed threshold values to generate leading and trailing synchronizing pulses. An additional comparator is provided for detecting the direction of circulation of the carriages.
