Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for the solid state capture of broadcast media. Multimedia content is received by a first tuner over one or more channels. A request is received from a networked device for the multimedia content from a particular one of the channels. The requested multimedia content is unavailable to a second tuner of the networked device. The requested multimedia content is provided over a network to the networked device.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for network-based user identification. An embodiment operates by transmitting a discovery signal over a network, and receiving a response to the discovery signal from a mobile device coupled to the network. Based on the response it is determined whether the mobile device is within a threshold vicinity of the streaming media device. Which if it is, user settings corresponding to a user of the mobile device, which may also be a user of another device associated with the settings are determined. The other device is then configured based on the user settings.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for the detection of a mobile device to identify user preferences. An embodiment operates by detecting that a mobile device is within a vicinity of a computing device. A user ID that corresponds to the mobile device is identified. The user ID is provided to an application over a network, wherein the application identifies one or more preferences associated with the user ID. The one or more identified preferences are received from the application. The computing device is configured based on the one or more identified preferences associated with on the user ID, responsive to the detection.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for network-based user identification. An embodiment operates by determining a media access control (MAC) address of each of a plurality of mobile devices that have previously interacted with a streaming media device. A discovery signal is transmit to the MAC addresses of the plurality of mobile devices. Responses indicating a network address of each of the respective responding mobile devices are received. One or more user settings of the streaming media device are determined based on identified user settings corresponding to the plurality of responding mobile devices. The streaming media device is configured based on the identified one more user settings.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for distributed voice processing. An embodiment operates by receiving audio data from microphones associated with a plurality of devices distributed across an area of interest. A trigger word is detected in the audio data received from at least one of the devices. Responsive to detecting the trigger word, a voice command processing system associated with a multimedia device is activated. Based on the audio data received from at least two or more of the devices, a voice command associated with the multimedia device is determined. The multimedia device is controlled in accordance with the voice command.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for flexible output of streaming media. An embodiment operates by receiving, at a media server, media over a network. Output media, corresponding to the received media, is streamed to a display device. The output media includes a video component and an audio component. A command is received. Responsive to the command, the streaming of the video component to the display device is discontinued. A streaming of the video component is begun to a mobile device at a point in the video component corresponding where the video was discontinued.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for maintaining a temperature of an audio device during playback of audio content without audio interference. An embodiment operates by receiving a data stream comprising audio content for playback. The audio device determines a volume level of the audio content using the data stream. The audio device then controls a cooling device based on the volume level compared to a threshold value. This reduces the amount of time the cooling device is turned on during playback of the audio content. This reduces audio interference, improves the user playback experience, and prevents overheating of the audio device which improves reliability and reduces audio device failure rate.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for determining time and content restrictions based user identification. An embodiment operates by automatically identifying a user who is using a media device using at least one of a network-oriented method of user discovery and an user-action oriented method of user discovery. Preferences, including at least one of a time limit or content restriction, associated with the identified user are accessed. The accessed restriction is enforced against the identified user.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments for interaction-based user identification. An embodiment operates by receiving an interaction between a user and a mobile device. The mobile device can communicate with a streaming media device. Based on the interaction, an identity of the user is determined. User settings corresponding to the identity for the streaming media device are determined. The streaming media device is configured based on the user settings.
