Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify that uplink data is available for transmission at the UE prior to a scheduling request occasion. The UE may skip transmission of a scheduling request during the scheduling request occasion based on identifying that an uplink grant is pending. The UE may transmit at least a portion of the uplink data to a base station using a resource allocation indicated by the uplink grant. Alternatively, the UE may transmit the scheduling request to the base station during a first scheduling request occasion. The UE may initiate a retransmission timer based on transmitting the scheduling request. Accordingly, the UE may skip retransmission of the scheduling request during a second scheduling request occasion that is subsequent to the first scheduling request occasion based on the retransmission timer.

Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. Control information used to preschedule communication resources may be received and communications may be performed based on the control information using a prescheduling technique. A scheduling type used for the control information may be determined using configuration information, an indication included in the control information, or both. A wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start or not restart an inactivity timer based on the received control information. Also, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start a retransmission timer based on the received control information. Additionally, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may also refrain from transmitting a scheduling request based on a duration until a next instance of prescheduled communication resources is expected to occur.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for uplink traffic alignment and/or uplink traffic aggregation in wireless communication systems. A user equipment (UE) is configured with a mechanism for signaling uplink transmit opportunities to an application client using an application programming interface (API) disposed between a modem of the UE and the application client that enables uplink traffic generated by the application client to be aligned. The API includes semi-static parameters that may be used when a common timer is configured between the application client and the modem, and/or dynamic parameters that may be used when a common timer is not configured between the application client and the modem. The API may also include an extended signaling scheme that may include no-transmission (No-Tx) indications that indicate intervals during which no transmissions are allowed. These No-Tx parameters apply to the semi-static and/or dynamic signaling scheme.

Abstract: In an aspect, while a mobile device is operating in a RRC_Idle State, an RRC_Suspended State, an RLF State and/or an RLF Recovery Procedure State, the mobile device may transmit a connection establishment message to a base station of a plurality of base stations. In an aspect, the connection establishment message includes information that indicates whether the mobile device has information associated with signals transmitted by one or more base stations of the plurality of base stations. The mobile device may initiate transmission of the information associated with the signals to the base station subsequent to establishing a security context for the connection between the mobile device and the base station.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing scheduling requests (SRs) in a user equipment (UE) that supports a split data radio bearer (DRB). In some aspects, the UE may trigger a first SR for a first communication link and a second SR for a second communication link in response to determining that a first amount of data in the UE data buffer is greater than a first threshold. The UE may transmit the first SR to a first base station (BS) via the first communication link. Prior to transmission of the second SR, the UE may determine whether a second amount of data in the UE data buffer is less than a second threshold. The UE may cancel the second SR in response to the second amount of data in the UE data buffer being less than the second threshold.

A data layer at a user equipment (UE) may provide information associated with an uplink message to a modem power manager to determine whether to keep resources which are brought up by the scheduler or to power them off for transmitting the uplink message. For example, the data layer may indicate a radio access technology, a subscriber identifier, and a bearer type associated with the uplink message, which may enable the modem power manager to identify which radios to wake up (e.g., or avoid putting to sleep). Utilizing the information may enable the modem power manager to determine whether the wakeup is related to uplink data, acquire information to support the wakeup with resources indicated by the information, and avoid putting resources to sleep if the scheduled and the unscheduled wakeup resource requirements match.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may generate and transmit at least one TCP ACK message according to a delay timer. A duration for the delay timer may be based on a downlink data pattern associated with downlink data packets for the UE and an uplink scheduling pattern associated with uplink data packets for the UE. The UE may generate and transmit multiple TCP ACK message segments corresponding to the TCP ACK message based on the downlink data pattern and the uplink scheduling pattern. A TCP ACK message segment may correspond to feedback for a respective portion of the quantity of data. The UE may generate and transmit a TCP ACK message associated with the quantity of data based on a transmission blanking pattern.

In some aspects, a wireless communication device may receive protocol data units (PDUs) in multiple TTIs (e.g., slots). The wireless communication device may generate, for each TTI of the multiple TTIs, a descriptor that identifies serial numbers (SNs) of PDUs that are received in the TTI. The wireless communication device may aggregate the descriptors for the multiple TTIs into an aggregated descriptor that identifies the SNs of the PDUs across the multiple TTIs. Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE receives a first uplink grant for a first RAT (e.g., 5G NR) and a second uplink grant for a second RAT (e.g., LTE). In one embodiment, the UE schedules an uplink transmission on the first RAT (e.g., by selectively dropping the uplink transmission on particular resource blocks) so as to manage an amount of time that is based on concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are performed. In another embodiment, the UE establishes a first period of time where a BSR transmitted by the UE on the first RAT is adjusted based on scheduling of concurrent uplink multi-RAT transmissions, and a second period of time where no BSR is transmitted by the UE on the first RAT based where concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are not permitted to be scheduled.
