Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for automatic exposure control. An example method can include receiving pixel values captured by a photosensor pixel array (PPA) of an image sensor, wherein one or more pixel values from the pixel values correspond to one or more sensitivity-biased photosensor (SBP) pixels in the PPA and one or more saturated pixel values from the pixel values correspond to one or more other photosensor pixels in the PPA; determining, based on the one or more pixel values, an actual pixel value for the one or more pixel values and/or the one or more saturated pixel values; determining an adjustment factor for at least one of the pixel values based on the actual pixel value and a target exposure value; and based on the adjustment factor, correcting an exposure setting associated with the image sensor and/or at least one of the pixel values.

Abstract: A device for image capture comprises a memory and one or more processors coupled to the memory and configured to: receive, during a preview mode or a recording, a first image, generate a first saliency map indicative of relative saliency of different regions within the first image, wherein the relative saliency of the different regions is indicative of a likelihood of attracting viewer gaze, generate one or more additional images based on manipulating pixels in the first image, generate one or more additional saliency maps indicative of relative saliency of different regions within the one or more additional images, and determine, during the preview mode or the recording, a camera setting based on the first saliency map and the one or more additional saliency maps.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for image signal processing. In a first aspect, a method of image processing includes controlling an image sensor to capture image data for determining a standard dynamic range (SDR) representation of a scene, the image data comprising a first series of image frames captured with a first exposure level and a second series of image frames captured at a second exposure level. The SDR representation of the scene may be generated by determining a first output image frame based on at least a first image frame of the first series of image frames. Determining of an exposure level for the image sensor during the SDR image capture may be based on a second image frame of the second series of image frames captured by the image sensor in a multi-frame sensor configuration. Abstract: Apparatus and methods employing a PDAF optical system are disclosed herein. An example apparatus includes an image sensor comprising a plurality of pixels. The plurality of pixels include a set of pixels configurable to be imaging pixels or focus pixels. The image sensor is configured to generate image data of a scene based on received light at the plurality of pixels. The example apparatus also includes a processor coupled to the image sensor. The processor may be configured to receive first image data of a first frame of the scene, determine at least one region of interest or region of non-interest of the first frame, select, based on the determined at least one region of interest or region of non-interest, a subset of the set of pixels to be focus pixels, and cause the selected subset of the set of pixels to operate as focus pixels.

Abstract: Systems and techniques are described herein for capturing images. For instance, a process can include obtaining a first image associated with a first exposure setting and obtaining a second image associated with a second exposure setting that is different from the first exposure setting. The process can include obtaining motion information associated with at least one of the first image and the second image and determining, based on the motion information, that motion associated with a first pixel of the first image exceeds a threshold. The process can include generating, based on the motion information, a fused image including a first set of pixels from the first image and a second set of pixels from the second image. The first set of pixels from the first image includes the first pixel based on the determination that the motion associated with the first pixel exceeds the threshold.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing one or more images include determining one or more current exposure settings for a current image of a current scene at a current time. One or more motion characteristics associated with an image sensor are determined. Based on the one or more motion characteristics, a location of a portion of the current image to use for determining one or more future exposure settings for the image sensor are determined, the one or more future exposure settings for capturing a future image of a future scene at a future time, the future time being subsequent to the current time. The one or more future exposure settings are determined based on the predicted portion of the current image.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for image processing are described. A device may emit light from a light source and capture one or more images using an image sensor based on the emitted light. The device may emit light based on identifying a low lighting condition. The image sensor may include a set of non-phase detection pixels, a set of phase detection pixels, and a pixelated filter layer deposited over the set of non-phase detection pixels. The device may perform an autofocus operation based on an image offset associated with at least two phase detection pixels and the one or more images. Subsequently, the device may generate the one or more images based on the autofocus operation.
