    Abstract: Synchronized sensors and systems are disclosed. Techniques involving a synchronized sensor system for determining a physiological parameter of a user may include: obtaining one or more first measurements at a first location of the user via a first sensor; obtaining one or more second measurements at a second location of the user via a second sensor; and determining the physiological parameter of the user based on the one or more first measurements, the one or more second measurements, and a distance between the first location and the second location, the distance between the first location and the second location determined based on acoustic communication between the first sensor and the second sensor. In some implementations, acoustic communication may include ultrasound signals between the first sensor and the second sensor, which may be time synchronized by exchanging timestamps.

    Abstract: Devices and systems for controlling pressure during sensing are disclosed. Such sensors and/or systems may be embodied in a wearable user device. The wearable user device may include a cuff configured to apply a pressure to a portion of a user at a plurality of discrete pressure levels over a plurality of time periods; a biometric sensor configured to obtain a plurality of sensor measurements associated with a blood vessel of the user at corresponding ones of the plurality of discrete pressure levels during corresponding ones of the plurality of time periods; and a wearable structure including the cuff and the biometric sensor.

    Abstract: An apparatus may include a platen, an electromagnetic interference (EMI)-reducing system including a first EMI-reducing layer, a light source system and a receiver system. The light source system may include a light-emitting component, light source system circuitry and a light guide system and may be configured to emit light through the first EMI-reducing layer to a first platen area via a light pipe between the first EMI-reducing layer and the platen. The light guide system may include a light-directing element for directing light from the first EMI-reducing layer to the light pipe. The receiver system may be configured to detect acoustic waves corresponding to a photoacoustic response of a target object in contact with the first platen area to light emitted by the light source system. The first EMI-reducing layer may reduce a level of EMI emitted by the light source system circuitry that is received by receiver system circuitry.

    Abstract: Some disclosed devices include a light source system, a target detection system; and a control system configured to communicate with the light source system and the target detection system. The control system may be further configured to receive target detection data from the target detection system, to estimate the presence or absence of a biological target based, at least in part, on the target detection data and to enable or disable the light source system based, at least in part, on an estimation of the presence or absence of the biological target. For example, if the biological target is detected, the control system may enable the light source system.
