Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatuses for measurement of cells and determination of a non-standalone (NSA) coverage status using an NSA coverage database. The NSA coverage database may indicate candidate frequencies of New Radio (NR) cells that provide NSA coverage corresponding to a given Long Term Evolution (LTE) serving cell. The NSA coverage database may also indicate whether a system information block 1 (SIB1) has been previously received on a candidate frequency. The user equipment (UE) may perform measurement of candidate frequencies using the NSA coverage database, and may identify cases where a cell not providing NSA coverage has a same candidate frequency as a cell providing NSA coverage using the indication of whether SIB1 has been previously received on a candidate frequency.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a measurement gap configuration from a base station, wherein the measurement gap configuration includes a tune away period. The UE may determine whether one or more data traffic criteria are satisfied for the tune away period. The UE may disregard the measurement gap configuration based at least in part on the determination of whether the one or more data traffic criteria are satisfied. The UE may remain tuned to the base station during the tune away period based at least in part on the determination of whether the one or more data traffic criteria are satisfied. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Abstract: A method for reacquiring a cell after tune-away for an MSMS mobile communication device includes: measuring pilot signal energy of a cell on which a data call was suspended on a first subscription before tune-away; determining whether the measured pilot signal energy is less than a high threshold RSSI value; determining whether a difference between a measured cell timing and a pre-tune-away cell timing is less than a first threshold timing value; determining whether a strongest pilot signal energy received on one of a plurality of rake fingers is greater than a low threshold RSSI value; decreasing the low threshold RSSI value for reacquiring the cell; and in response to determining that the measured RSSI for the strongest pilot signal energy received on one of the plurality of the receiver rake fingers is not less than the decreased minimum threshold RSSI value, reacquiring the cell and resuming the data call.

Abstract: A user equipment (UE) can connect to an evolved universal terrestrial radio access network (E-UTRAN) new radio (NR) dual-connectivity (EN-DC) network using both a Long Term Evolution (LTE) anchor link and a 5G NR non-anchor link. The UE shares RF chain components (e.g., antennas) between the LTE and NR links. The UE uses various techniques for controlling or modifying NR sounding reference signal (SRS) transmissions and/or LTE operations to avoid interruption on LTE operations due to NR SRS transmissions.
