Abstract:
An apparatus and method for transmitting an indicator of channel quality while minimizing the use of a broadcast channel is described. A metric of forward link geometry of observed transmission signals is determined. An indicator of channel quality value is determined as a function of the observed transmission signals. An access sequence is selected, randomly, from one group of a plurality of groups of access sequences, wherein each of the plurality of groups of access sequences correspond to different ranges of channel quality values.
Abstract:
The disclosure relates in some aspects to information encoding. Information encoding may involve puncturing bits of a codeword or repeating bits of a codeword. The disclosure relates in some aspects to selecting a puncturing or repetition pattern. In some aspects, a puncture pattern for data encoding is selected based on a criterion that the output and the repetition input of an XOR are not erased. In some aspects, a repetition pattern for data encoding is selected based on a criterion that repetition not be applied for the output and the repetition input of an XOR.
Abstract:
Aspects of frequency error detection with Physical Broadcast CHannel (PBCH) frequency hypothesis are described. For example, a method and apparatus are disclosed for frequency tracking in a user equipment (UE) may include detecting a change in frequency that exceeds a pull-in range of a frequency tracking loop (FTL) of the UE. The method and apparatus may also include identifying a tracking recovery frequency in response to the change in frequency being detected, wherein the tracking recover frequency is identified from a set of frequency hypotheses and based on decoding of the PBCH received by the UE. The method and apparatus may further include updating the FTL with the tracking recovery frequency.
Abstract:
Techniques for reservation coordination on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point, for example, may contend for access to a communication medium, and transmit a channel reservation message in accordance with a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) to reserve the communication medium for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration based on the contending. The access point may then transmit, during the reserved TXOP duration, a reservation coordination signal in accordance with a second RAT to convey reservation coordination information associated with the reserved TXOP duration.
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment that receives interference cancelation information from a base station. Various aspects are described for employing interference cancelation information perform interference suppression in the presence of interference associated with different component carriers when employing carrier aggregation, small cell discovery signals, variations in data channel transmissions associated with certain transmission modes, and higher order QAM rates.
Abstract:
The present disclosure provides techniques for performing bit-level interleaving for orthogonal frequency-divisional multiplexing (OFDM) symbols across a plurality of code blocks. In some aspects, a transmitting device may dynamically switch between bit-level interleaving and tone-level interleaving for each OFDM symbol based on factors such as number of bits that are carried in each tone, size of each code block, the processing time requirements of the transmitting device and/or the receiving device, or the transmitting device preference.

Abstract:
Aspects of the disclosure relate to wireless communication systems configured to utilize a shared spectrum between two or more network operators. Coexistence between the different network operators on the shared spectrum may be provided by reserving resources for exclusive use by each of the network operators within a period of time that is variable based on the number of network operators. Non-exclusive use of resources may further be granted to one or more network operators in accordance with network operator priorities.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of wireless communications includes transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a mid-amble position indication and/or a UE capability information, wherein at least one of the mid-amble position indication or the UE capability information facilitate identification of a mid-amble position within a slot. Additionally, the aspects include receiving, by the UE, a transmission including a transmitted slot having a preamble and a mid-amble, wherein the mid-amble is at the mid-amble position within the slot as determined based at least in part on the at least one of the mid-amble position indication or the UE capability information. For example, the preamble and the mid-amble include pilot signals, such as Demodulation Reference Signals (DMRSs).
Abstract:
A method, an apparatus, and a computer program product for wireless communication are provided. The apparatus may be a user equipment that receives a configuration with carrier aggregation. The apparatus may determine a first starting symbol for a PDSCH. In one aspect, the first starting symbol for the PDSCH may be determined based at least in part on a blind detection.
