Abstract:
Multi-level cell (MLC) static random access memory (SRAM) (MLC SRAM) cells configured to perform multiplication operations are disclosed. In one aspect, an MLC SRAM cell includes SRAM bit cells, wherein data values stored in SRAM bit cells correspond to a multiple-bit value stored in the MLC SRAM cell that serves as first operand in multiplication operation. Voltage applied to read bit line is applied to each SRAM bit cell, wherein the voltage is an analog representation of a multiple-bit value that serves as a second operand in the multiplication operation. For each SRAM bit cell, if a particular binary data value is stored, a current correlating to the voltage of the read bit line is added to a current sum line. A magnitude of current on the current sum line is an analog representation of a multiple-bit product of the first operand multiplied by the second operand.

Techniques for securing transactions on a mobile device are provided. An example method according to these techniques includes receiving an input of a code to authorize a transaction in a security sensitive application, authenticating the transaction responsive to the input of the code, monitoring sensor information indicative of a context change, and authorizing subsequent transactions responsive to the sensor information indicating that the context change has not occurred since receiving the input of the code.
Abstract:

Abstract:
Access terminals are adapted to facilitate discontinuous transmission (DTX). According to one example, an access terminal determines to disable DTX, such that a continuous reverse link transmission may occur, in a fashion such as not to interfere with the operation of a Frame Early Termination operation utilized in CDMA 1× technology. As one example, the access terminal may cease the utilization of DTX in accordance with a performance metric of a wireless communication network. The performance metric may be a forward link power control setpoint of a base station, a number of quasi-orthogonal function sets being utilized at the base station, a number of frame erasures corresponding to a forward link transmission from the base station, or any other suitable measurable parameter of the network performance. Other aspects, embodiments, and features are also claimed and described.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for signaling adjustments include identifying, by a user equipment (UE), a change in a reachability state of the UE based at least in part on one or more channel metrics determined by a modem in the UE. Further, the methods and apparatus include adjusting a transmission of connectivity signals (e.g., keep-alive signals) to a server from an application on the UE, the adjusting being based at least in part on an indication of the change in the reachability state provided to the application via an interface in communication with the modem (e.g., modem application programming interface or API). Additionally, the methods and apparatus can include transmitting an indication of the change in the reachability state to the server. Moreover, the methods and apparatus may accommodate signaling adjustments for one or more applications on the UE and one or more servers in a wireless communication system.
Abstract:
Clock tree design methods for ultra-wide voltage range circuits are disclosed. In one aspect, place and route software creates an integrated circuit (IC) in an optimal configuration at a first voltage condition. A first clock tree is created as part of the place and route process. Clock skew for the first clock tree is evaluated and minimized through insertion of bypassable delay elements. The delay elements are then removed from the wiring routing diagram. A second voltage condition is identified, and clock tree generation software is allowed to optimize the wiring routing diagram for the second voltage condition. The second clock tree generation software may insert more bypassable delay elements into the wiring routing diagram that allow clock skew optimization at the second voltage condition. The initial bypassable delay elements are then reinserted into the wiring routing diagram and a finished IC is established.
Abstract:
Aspects of the present disclosure provide wireless communication devices and methods configured to operate with multiple active connections. A user equipment establishes a first active connection associated with a first subscription. The user equipment also establishes a second active connection, simultaneous to the first active connection, associated with a second subscription. The user equipment provides modem information corresponding to connection qualities of the first active connection and second active connection, to an operating system of the user equipment. Furthermore, the user equipment mitigates contention between the first active connection and second active connection by degrading at least one of the first active connection or second active connection in accordance with a decision given by the operating system based on the modem information.
Abstract:
Distributed energy demand management mechanisms for a distributed energy network are disclosed. In one example, a local energy controller of a local energy system determines projected energy demand information for a plurality of energy devices of the local energy system based on energy pricing information received from a central energy coordinator. The local energy controller modifies an energy consumption schedule during an energy pricing transition period based on energy access control information received from the central energy coordinator to manage a projected energy demand increase during the energy pricing transition period of the distributed energy network. In one example, the central energy coordinator determines the energy pricing information for the distributed energy network based on energy supply information and the projected energy demand information. The central energy coordinator determines the energy access control information based on the projected energy demand increase during the energy pricing transition period.
Abstract:
System(s) and method(s) are provided for handover of a mobile terminal in a wireless communication system. Handoff resolution relies on both a downlink channel quality indication between a serving base station and the mobile terminal, and uplink channel quality indications amongst the terminal and a measurement set of target base stations. To generate UL channel quality indicators, the mobile station conveys a narrowband or broadband sounding reference signal, and serving and target base stations measure UL and DL performance metrics (e.g., RSRP, RSSI, or RSOT). In backward handover, UL channel state information from target cells is received at the serving base station through backhaul communication, and handoff is resolved based on both UL and DL quality reports. In forward handover, the set of UL quality reports are conveyed to the mobile station to determine a target cell for handoff.
Abstract:
A method for performing mobile receive diversity may include: enabling a first receive chain associated with a first radio access technology (RAT) to receive one or more signals from a second RAT; receiving second RAT signals on a second receive chain; enabling receive diversity on a modem associated with a second receive chain; generating, by a diversity receiver, a receive diversity signal based on the one or more second RAT signals received by the first receive chain during periods of time the first receive chain does not receive a signal from the first RAT; and outputting the generated receive diversity signal to a decoder for the second RAT.
