Abstract: Techniques for wireless communications are described. Control information used to preschedule communication resources may be received and communications may be performed based on the control information using a prescheduling technique. A scheduling type used for the control information may be determined using configuration information, an indication included in the control information, or both. A wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start or not restart an inactivity timer based on the received control information. Also, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may not start a retransmission timer based on the received control information. Additionally, a wireless device that is prescheduled communication resources may also refrain from transmitting a scheduling request based on a duration until a next instance of prescheduled communication resources is expected to occur.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for wireless communication that support mechanisms for uplink traffic alignment and/or uplink traffic aggregation in wireless communication systems. A user equipment (UE) is configured with a mechanism for signaling uplink transmit opportunities to an application client using an application programming interface (API) disposed between a modem of the UE and the application client that enables uplink traffic generated by the application client to be aligned. The API includes semi-static parameters that may be used when a common timer is configured between the application client and the modem, and/or dynamic parameters that may be used when a common timer is not configured between the application client and the modem. The API may also include an extended signaling scheme that may include no-transmission (No-Tx) indications that indicate intervals during which no transmissions are allowed. These No-Tx parameters apply to the semi-static and/or dynamic signaling scheme.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for managing scheduling requests (SRs) in a user equipment (UE) that supports a split data radio bearer (DRB). In some aspects, the UE may trigger a first SR for a first communication link and a second SR for a second communication link in response to determining that a first amount of data in the UE data buffer is greater than a first threshold. The UE may transmit the first SR to a first base station (BS) via the first communication link. Prior to transmission of the second SR, the UE may determine whether a second amount of data in the UE data buffer is less than a second threshold. The UE may cancel the second SR in response to the second amount of data in the UE data buffer being less than the second threshold.

Abstract: Aspects of a method, a computer-readable medium, and an apparatus are provided for wireless communication at a base station. The apparatus configures a user equipment (UE) with a first logical channel prioritization (LCP) configuration and a second LCP configuration for a logical channel. The apparatus indicates for the UE to use the first LCP configuration for uplink transmissions on a logical channel based on a first condition. The apparatus indicates for the UE to use the second LCP configuration for the uplink transmissions on the logical channel based on a second condition. The UE transmits uplink transport blocks based on the indicated LCP configuration for the logical channel.

Abstract: The apparatus of wireless communication may include a transmitter connected to a receiver through a split carrier including a first carrier and a second carrier, and the transmitter may be configured to schedule transmission data at PDCP level by splitting the transmission data to first packets and second packets based on a relative scheduling delay between the first carrier and the second carrier, and scheduling the first packets and the second packets on different links based on a scheduling proportion, and transmit the first packets via the first carrier and the second packets via the second carrier. The transmitter may sequentially transmit the transmission data starting at an offset as the second packets to a second RLC level associated with the second carrier, wherein the offset is determined based on the relative scheduling delay.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a UE receives a first uplink grant for a first RAT (e.g., 5G NR) and a second uplink grant for a second RAT (e.g., LTE). In one embodiment, the UE schedules an uplink transmission on the first RAT (e.g., by selectively dropping the uplink transmission on particular resource blocks) so as to manage an amount of time that is based on concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are performed. In another embodiment, the UE establishes a first period of time where a BSR transmitted by the UE on the first RAT is adjusted based on scheduling of concurrent uplink multi-RAT transmissions, and a second period of time where no BSR is transmitted by the UE on the first RAT based where concurrent uplink transmissions on both the first and second RATs are not permitted to be scheduled.

Abstract: In one aspect, a method of wireless communication includes determining a number of bytes in a compressed queue and a number of bytes in an uncompressed queue. The method also includes transmitting a buffer status report (BSR) indicating at least the number of bytes in the compressed queue. The method includes receiving an uplink grant indicating one or more uplink grant resources and a number of bytes allocated for the one or more uplink grant resources. The method also includes generating a transport block (TB) based on the uplink grant and the BSR and from data of at least the compressed queue, wherein the TB includes one or more compressed packets and one or more uncompressed packets. The method further includes transmitting a PUSCH transmission including the TB during an uplink grant resource of the one or more uplink grant resources. A transmitting device may associate, at a first protocol layer, a first sequence number to a data packet to perform integrity protection on at least a portion of the data packet. The transmitting device may associate, at the first protocol layer, a second sequence number to the data packet for wireless transmission to a receiving device. The transmitting device may indicate an offset between the first sequence number and the second sequence number in the data packet. The transmitting device may transmit the data packet to a second protocol layer for wireless transmission to the receiving device, the second protocol layer being a lower layer than the first protocol layer.

Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may detect a trigger for transmitting a buffer status report (BSR). The UE may transmit, to a base station, a long BSR for a single logical channel group (LCG) with data to be transmitted based at least in part on at least one of a determination that a current buffer size for the single LCG is greater than a maximum buffer size indication in a short BSR or a determination that a current achievable uplink throughput using the short BSR is less than a configured uplink throughput.
