    摘要: A boat and method for treating a body of water which includes continuously scooping surface water as the boat traverses the lake. The method may include the step of adding a neutralizing agent such as lime to a body of water. To avoid forming "hot spots" in the body of water, water is continuously scooped from the surface and treated while in a barge which trails the boat. Neutralized water, instead of lime, is then returned to the lake at a predetermined depth. To treat as much water as quickly as possible, the scoops are funnel-like with parabolic portions, and conduits conveying water from the scoops have high velocity pumps to increase the velocity of the water relative to the speed of the boat. The barge includes a number of compartments for containing a variety of chemicals such as lime. The scooped water may be directed to one or more of the compartments. In an additional or alternative treatment, the water being scooped from the surface may be aerated and returned to a lower, oxygen-depleted level of the lake.

    摘要: A water power generator for generating electrical energy from a moving body of water comprising structural means interposed in the path of water flow. The structural means includes at least one side wall which is longitudinally curved from a diverting point at the outer end thereof to a gradually flattened curve at the inner end thereof. The wall is transversely curved from a generally planar surface at the outer end thereof to a curvature approaching circular at the inner end thereof. Cowling means is positioned at the inner end of the side wall, and turbine generator means is located at the outer end of said cowling means. In certain forms of the invention, two or more longitudinally and transversely curved side walls are provided, each having an associated cowling and turbine generator. The invention is adaptable to wave action, tidal action and river current environments.

    摘要: A low-pressure desalinization in a water chamber having an open end submerged in a water supply such as an ocean. An air exhaust pump draws air out of the water chamber to lower the surface tension of an upper stratum of water, which is thereby converted to vapor and subsequently condensed to nonsalinated water and collected in a U-shaped trap with a pair of sealing, closable valves. Moreover, a velocity enhancing parabolic channel is included for efficiently utilizing the potential energy of the fresh water. The fresh water is conveyed from its height at the top of the water chamber to a turbine via a velocity enhancement parabolic channel which enhances the velocity of the water for the turbine. The desalinator also includes a plurality of strips of sheeting partially immersed in the water being desalinated and drawing water therefrom via capillary action to increase the surface area of the water being subjected to the vacuum.

    摘要: An electric generating system relying on wave action forces, wherein a shallow reservoir is provided and confined by a cofferdam or silo so as to provide a hydrostatic head between the reservoir and the open body of water exterior to the cofferdam or silo. The hydrostatic head drives turbine generators, and spent water is discharged from the generators into the reservoir. Pump and float assemblies are mounted on the exterior of the cofferdam or silo and function to withdraw water from the reservoir responsive to upwardly directed wave forces thereby maintaining the hydrostatic head.

    摘要: An apparatus for producing electrical energy from multidirectional water wave action including a central support for placement on the bottom of a body of water with the support extending vertically above the surface of the water. A multiplicity of shafts extend radially and horizontally from the central support. A multiplicity of floats are supplied for each shaft with an elongated member connected at the upper end to each float and in engagement with a weight connected to the lower end of each elongated member and extending below the shaft. A one way clutch is mounted on each of said shafts and associated with each of said elongated members intermediate the ends thereof adapted to rotate each shaft in one direction when the float raises on a wave and not affect the shafts when said floats lower in a trough between waves. Each of said shafts is connected to electrical generating means for actuation of the same.
