Abstract:
On each of a plurality of recording layers of a write-once optical disc, two tracks constituted of adjacent land and groove are formed in a spiral shape. A writing method of data includes: a step of receiving data and a writing instruction of the data; and a step of recording management information, wherein the management information includes: virtual sequential recording range information that manages a last recorded address of the data as a virtual physical sector number; defect list that indicates a replacement correspondence relationship between the virtual physical sector number and an actually recorded physical sector number; and real next writable address information that indicates a real next writable address that is actually recordable subsequently to the physical sector number.
Abstract:

In the information recording medium, the at least one recording layer has a spiral shape in which a land track and a groove track are alternately arranged as a recording track, the recording track is divided into blocks each of which being minimum unit in which recording is performed, and the information recording medium includes a management information area where management information is recorded and a user data area where user data is recorded. Each of the management information areas of both the land track and the groove track on each recording layer of the at least one recording layer is disposed at a same distance from the center of the information recording medium.
Abstract:
A track of an optical disk is formed by wobbling and divided into zones, a clock ratio of a recording clock to a wobble clock is preset for each zone, a wobble signal is detected from the optical disk, the wobble clock is generated from the wobble signal, a present position is identified by reproducing ADIP indicating a position of the track from the wobble signal and the wobble clock, the recording clock is generated with respect to the wobble clock, a data address present position is identified from the present position, a start end position of the ADIP in a recording target zone, a start end position of the data address in the recording target zone, and the clock ratio, a recording start position is identified based on the data address present position; and the data is recorded from the recording start position of the recording target zone.
Abstract:
An information reproduction apparatus includes plural magazines in which optical discs are set, plural drives for performing recording and reproduction on an optical disc set therein, a changer mechanism that transports a magazine between its setting position and one or more drives and mounts and remove a prescribed optical disc or discs in and from the one or more drives by performing either one of a single move process and a multi-move process, and a controller. The controller judges whether to conduct the single move process or the multi-move process based on a reading data list and use statuses of the respective drives.
Abstract:
An information recording and playback device includes a recording and playback unit, and a controller. The controller divides a recording area of an optical disk into a first recording area which is at an inner circumference side, and a second recording area which is at an outer circumference side. The controller controls the recording and playback unit such that the unit records or plays back data in the first recording area at a first speed, and records or plays back data in the second recording area at a second speed slower than the first speed. The predetermined radius is set to a boundary between an area in which a control residual exceeds a predetermined reference value when servo control related to focusing and tracking is performed on the recording area of the optical disk, and an area in which the control residual does not exceed the predetermined reference value.
Abstract:
The optical disk device performs recording/reproducing of data by a predetermined recording block on the track of an optical disk. The device has a recording unit, an optical-head, and a failure detection unit. The recording unit generates a recording signal by modulating the data. The optical-head records data on the track by optical beam emission to the track according to the recording signal, and detects light reflected off the track and then generates a detection signal based on the reflected light. The failure detection unit detects an abnormal condition based on the detection signal changed from a normal condition. If the sum of duration of an abnormal condition in the recording block is equal to or greater than a first time-length, the failure detection unit determines that the recording block has a flaw.
Abstract:
The optical disc library apparatus of the present disclosure includes one or more magazines configured to store a plurality of optical discs, a plurality of optical disc drives configured to perform recording or reproducing on or from the optical discs, a changer mechanism configured to perform loading or ejecting any optical disc stored in the magazine to or from any optical disc drive, and a controller configured to control the changer mechanism. The magazine includes magazine-disc association information associating magazine information specifying the magazine with disc information specifying a plurality of optical discs to be stored in the magazine. The controller outputs the magazine-disc association information.
Abstract:
A data erasing method of the present disclosure is a data erasing method for erasing data stripe-recorded in a plurality of write-once optical discs constituting a redundant arrays of inexpensive disks (RAID) system and each including a plurality of data recording blocks and a redundant data block. In the data erasing method, alternate recording of at least one target block and the redundant data block is performed in a predetermined alternate area. The target block is one of the data recording blocks in which target data as erase target data is recorded. The target block is overwritten such that the target data is not correctly read.
Abstract:
An information recording method of the present disclosure is an information recording method for recording information on a write-once information recording medium, including one or more recording layers, each of the recording layers being spiral-shaped on which a land track and a groove track are alternately repeated as recording tracks, each of the recording tracks being divided into blocks, each of the blocks being a minimum unit in which recording is performed. The information recording method includes: recording the information on the information recording medium in a unit of each of the blocks; and controlling recording on the information recording medium. In the control step, switching is performed whether to perform recording in a block to be recorded in which the information is to be recorded next among the blocks based on recording conditions of the recording tracks adjacent on both sides of the block to be recorded.
