    Abstract: A lighting device that is capable of illuminating in all directions includes: a case that includes a plurality of wall portions each including a face in a polygonal shape; a plurality of light-emitting elements that are provided in the plurality of wall portions and emit light toward outside of the lighting device; and a controller that controls the plurality of light-emitting elements separately. The case is of an outer shape that is spherical or polyhedral. The case includes bent portions that are bent in the outer shape of the case.     Abstract: A light source device includes: an excitation light source that emits primary light; a first lens that condenses the primary light; a wavelength converting member that emits secondary light including the primary light and wavelength converted light; a sensor that detects an anomaly in the wavelength converting member; and a second lens that causes light which travels back toward the excitation light source to be incident on the sensor. The sensor detects the light via the second lens. The first lens includes (i) a first face through which the primary light enters, and (ii) a second face opposite the first face from which the primary light that has entered from the first face and transmitted through an inside of the first lens exits. The third face of the second lens has a curvature different from a curvature of the first face and the second face of the first lens.

    Abstract: A wavelength converting member includes a first wavelength converting material and a second wavelength converting material. The emission wavelength of the second wavelength converting material is longer than the emission wavelength of the first wavelength converting material, and in the second wavelength converting material, the time from when excitation light stops to when fluorescence stops is an afterglow time, and the afterglow time is longer than the emission time of the first wavelength converting material and is 1 s or less. A light source device includes the wavelength converting member and a light source unit. A lighting device includes the wavelength converting member, a light source device, and a light guide disposed between the light source unit and the wavelength converting member.

    Abstract: A wavelength conversion device for laser light including a laser light source that emits laser light having a predetermined wavelength; a first substrate that is light-transmissive; a second substrate that is light-transmissive; a phosphor layer provided between and in surface contact with the first substrate and the second substrate, the phosphor layer converting a wavelength of the laser light; and a gap-maintaining component located between the first substrate and the second substrate, the gap-maintaining component adjusting a thickness of the phosphor layer by maintaining a uniform distance between the first substrate and the second substrate. Each of the first substrate and the second substrate has a thermal conductivity higher than a thermal conductivity of the phosphor layer. The gap-maintaining component is a plurality of thickness adjustment particles that are light-transmissive and have a shape having a substantially equal diameter, and the shape is one of wire-shaped, ring-shaped, and protruding.
