    摘要: Systems, methods, and computer readable storage mediums for managing multiple storage subsystems from the cloud. An organization with multiple storage subsystems may use a management service to monitor the storage subsystems from the cloud. The management service may automatically discover a new storage subsystem for the organization from the performance data generated by the new storage subsystem. An authorized user may login to the management service to view the status of multiple storage subsystems of the organization. The management service may also enable authorized users logging in from within the organization's network to push configuration updates to multiple storage subsystems via the cloud.

An illustrative method includes receiving a request to access content of a managed directory of a file system; filtering, without regard to how the content of the managed directory is being accessed, the content of the managed directory based on a visibility filter policy attached to the managed directory; and providing, responsive to the request, the filtered content of the managed directory.

A first dataset is replicated from a first storage subsystem to the cloud, with only the changes made to the first dataset since a previous replication event being replicated to the cloud. Additionally, the data may be deduplicated and compressed before being replicated from the first storage subsystem to the cloud. In some cases, the first dataset may be replicated to the cloud in a stream format which is not directly usable and then, at a later point in time, loaded onto a second storage subsystem from the cloud.
