摘要: A method of determining a radius of a cutting end of a tool for a turning machine using a touch probe is provided. One of the cutting end and the touch probe is movable relative to a reference frame having a first axis and a second axis and having a reference point trackable in the reference frame. The method comprises establishing a first contact point and recording a first coordinate of the reference point on the first axis; establishing a second contact point and recording a second coordinate of the reference point on the second axis; establishing a third contact point and recording a third coordinate of the reference point on the first axis and a fourth coordinate of the reference point on the second axis upon contact; and determining a radius of the cutting end based on the first, second, third and fourth coordinates.

摘要: A grinding machine for finishing turned surfaces of a rotor disc for a gas turbine engine, including a retaining mechanism for retaining the rotor disc and rotatable about a rotational axis corresponding to a central axis of the rotor disc, a spindle engaged to a grinding wheel and rotatable about a rotational axis corresponding to a central axis of the grinding wheel, the grinding wheel having an outer super abrasive surface, a translating mechanism engaged to at least one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle and actuable to provide a relative translational motion between the retaining mechanism and the spindle along three perpendicular axes, and a pivoting mechanism engaged to one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle and actuable to provide a pivoting motion of the rotational axis of one of the retaining mechanism and the spindle around a pivot axis perpendicular thereto.

摘要: A part measuring kit for a rotary table on a machine bed includes a part fixture mountable on the rotary table for retaining a part to be measured and/or an object having known dimensions. The kit further includes a measuring device mountable on the machine bed and movable relative to the rotary table for taking measurements of the part to be measured and/or the object having known dimensions, wherein the rotary table is rotatable between each taken measurement. The kit further includes a calibration offset calculator for calculating a calibration offset for the measuring device by comparing taken measurements of the object having known dimensions with the known dimensions, and correcting taken measurements of the part to be measured via the calculated calibration offset.
