    Abstract: The present invention relates to a filter tube, the filter tube comprising an empty paper tube and a filter attached to the empty paper tube, wherein the filter comprises a first filter segment, a second filter segment and a third filter segment, wherein the first filter segment is located at the mouth end of the filter tube, the second filter segment is located upstream of the second filter segment and the third filter segment is located upstream of the second filter segment. The invention further concerns a method of making such a filter tube. The filter tube is suitable for make-your-own cigarettes.

    Abstract: An aerosol-generating article (10) includes an aerosol forming substrate (20) and a filter (30) downstream of the substrate. The filter comprises filter material comprising filaments having a linear density of about 4 denier or greater. The filter has a resistance to draw of less than 130 mmWG. Preferably, the filter has a resistance to draw of 90 mmWG or less. More preferably, the filter has a resistance to draw of 70 mmWG or less. Preferably, the density of the filter material is about 0.12 g/cm3 or greater.

    Abstract: There is provided a smoking article having a mouth end and a distal end, the smoking article including a combustible carbonaceous heat source; an aerosol-forming substrate; at least one air inlet downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate; an airflow pathway extending between the at least one air inlet and the mouth end of the smoking article; and an airflow directing element downstream of the aerosol-forming substrate. The airflow directing element defines a first portion of the airflow pathway extending from the at least one air inlet towards the aerosol-forming substrate and a second portion of the airflow pathway extending downstream from the first portion towards the mouth end of the smoking article.
