A video processor includes: an image processing section including a front image enhancement processing section configured to perform first enhancement processing on a front image acquired from a front area in a subject by using an endoscope including an insertion portion which is inserted into the subject, and a side image enhancement processing section configured to perform second enhancement processing on a side image acquired from a side area located lateral to the front area by using the endoscope; and a control section configured to individually set an enhancement level of enhancement processing performed by the front image enhancement processing section and an enhancement level of enhancement processing performed by the side image enhancement processing section.

An endoscope includes a bending portion configured to be bent in a plurality of directions, a plurality of joint pieces that configure the bending portion, and cylindrical-shaped wire receivers provided so as to be fixed on an inner circumferential surface or an outer circumferential surface of at least one of the plurality of joint pieces, wherein an insertion direction of a wire is tilted in a circumferential direction with respect to a center axis of the joint pieces, and a direction in which the insertion direction of the wire in one of adjacent joint pieces of the joint pieces that are bent in a same bending direction is tilted is opposite to a direction in which the insertion direction of the wire in the other of the adjacent pieces is tilted.

An endoscope system includes: an insertion portion inserted into a subject; a first image acquisition section provided on the insertion portion and configured to acquire a first image from a first region of an object; a second image acquisition section provided on the insertion portion and configured to acquire a second image from a second region of the object including a region adjacent to the first region; and an image processing section configured to execute image processing by setting a first display region and a second display region adjacent to the first display region in a display section configured to display an image, disposing the first image in a first display region, disposing part of the second image in the first display region adjacent to the first image, and disposing remaining part of the second image in a second display region.

An endoscope includes: an elongated insertion section; a side observation window that includes a tapered part on a side circumference intersecting in a longitudinal axis direction of the insertion section, and includes a circumferential side surface formed in a cone shape; and a cleaning nozzle that includes an opening part through which liquid cleaning the circumferential side surface of the side observation window is ejected. The opening part is inclined to direct an ejection direction of the liquid toward a distal end of the tapered part. A center position of the opening part of the cleaning nozzle is provided on proximal end side with respect to a center position of the side observation window in the longitudinal axis direction.

A bending tube for an endoscope, which is provided inside a bending portion of an insertion portion of an endoscope and includes a plurality of bending pieces covered by a flexible tube body, the bending tube including a distalmost end bending piece connected to a distal end portion of an insertion portion, a proximalmost end bending piece connected to a flexible tube portion of the insertion portion, and a net-like tube covering an outer periphery of the plurality of bending pieces except the distalmost end bending piece and the proximalmost end bending piece and including a distal end part fixed to a first bending piece joined to the distalmost end bending piece and a proximal end part fixed to a second bending piece joined to the proximalmost end bending piece.
